New York

New York (official name in English, State of New York) is one of the 50
states of the United States of America, located in the Mid-Atlantic region
of the country, to the northeast of it. Its capital is Albany. It is the largest center
financial and commercial of the United States, as well as its largest center
industrial. With its 19 million inhabitants, New York is the third state
most populated in the country.

It should not be confused with the homonymous city, the City of New York.
(official name: City of New York, or, informal form: New York City), located
in the southernmost part of the state. Therefore, the state is often referred to as State of
New York. The City of New York is not only the largest city in the state,
with its 10.5 million inhabitants (about half of the state population),
but also the largest city in the United States.

The nickname of New York is Empire State. Historians
