Institute of Nursing Education, Mumbai a Premier Nursing Institute situated in the heart of
Mumbai city. This being an oldest institute of state government of Maharashtra under
Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) was established in 1960. At present
offering M. Sc. Nursing & Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing under the Maharashtra University of
Health Sciences Nashik. Post Basic Diploma in paediatrics Nursing under Maharashtra State
Board of Nursing and Paramedical Education, Mumbai. The college is also recognized as a
programme study center by IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) for Post Basic
B.Sc. Nursing course since 1997.
VISION
The Institute of Nursing Education aims to be recognized as a leading model
institution offering excellence in quality of Nursing Education to promote research
activities and nurture students with Knowledge, Skills & Attitude essential to make
them caring, concerned, compassionate, competent professional nurses, sensitive to
their social responsibilities and environment, intellectually enlightened, morally
upright, emotionally balanced and socially committed health care professionals
which will enable them to provide 'Evidence Based Quality' health care to the
society at large.

PHILOSOPHY OF INE
We the member of teaching and administration of INE believe that, due to advance in
Medical Technology, computerization, research in medical field & emerging and re-emerging
the health problems in community, the PBBSC & MSC Nursing programmed will prepare a
graduate & Post graduate nurses who will practice and guide others to Provide better quality
and advance comprehensive nursing care in the hospitals and in the community.
We believe that, a graduate & post graduate nurses prepared by this institute will be skilled,
knowledgeable and efficient to provide health care to meet the physical, psychosocial
(Emotional) and spiritual need of the patient admitted in the Hospital.

"The College of Nursing, Bombay' established on 8th November 1955 under the
Urban Development and Public Health Department, Government of Maharashtra &
renamed as "Institute of Nursing Education, Mumbai" on 7th February 1973.
