Iso 4624

This international standard specifies a method for evaluating the adhesion of one or multiple layers of paint, varnish, or other coatings by measuring the minimum tension required to separate the layer from the substrate. The results are influenced not only by the mechanical properties of the system but also by factors such as the nature of the substrate, the application method, drying conditions, and environmental factors. The method requires additional information about the product and testing conditions.

PULL OFF ADHESION TEST (DETACHMENT)

This standard is one of a series of standards dealing with sampling and analysis of
paints, varnishes and related products. Should be read in conjunction with ISO 1512,
ISO 1513, ISO 1514 and ISO 2808.

This international standard specifies a method for evaluating the adhesion of a single layer.
the multi-layer paint system, varnish or related to the product by
the measurement of the minimum tension necessary to separate or break the layer in a
perpendicular direction to the substrate.

The results of this test are influenced not only by the mechanical properties of
system under test. But also due to the nature and preparation of the substrate, the method
application of coating, the drying conditions of the coating, conditions
of temperature, humidity and other factors.
