Organizations today are governed by their identity and purpose.

In people, it's the same, as they have existential questions (Who am I?,

King David wondered: What is mankind that you are mindful of them, and the

One of the existential questions in human beings is: Who am I?; which
is linked to her identity.

A. What is identity?

It is the group of traits and characteristics that differentiate an individual or group.

of individuals, from the rest.

Because it identifies us with:

Our origin (where we come from).

we see and hear from our interaction with our environment.

Development

THE ORIGIN OF OUR IDENTITY

Genesis 1:28
And God blessed them, and said to them: Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over it.

Blessing comes from two words 'good' + 'to say' = to say or wish well of
someone, that is to say, that your virtues are exalted. The dictionary says: 'To praise,
to magnify, to exalt
The opposite is a Mis-saying that also comes from two words which are "bad" and
to say
Identity reveals our nature, our origin, our father,
1.2. THE INFLUENCE OF OUR PARENTS ON OUR IDENTITY.

Genesis 25:19-26... the story of Jacob

Jacob - The one who replaces.

Parents create in us, with their words and examples, our own.
thoughts, lifestyle, principles, etc. until forming our personality.
What we see them do, we often end up doing or imitating.
The saying goes: 'Like father, like son.'

The relationship with our Father influences our identity and personality.

2. THE IDENTITY GIVEN BY GOD

Mateo 3:13-17
16Y Jesus, after being baptized, went up out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and
I saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming upon him. Then a voice
who came from heaven said: "This is my Son. I love him very much and I am very pleased with him."

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

For the same Spirit testifies to our spirit that we are children of God.

The first thing God does is give identity, why didn't he give powers, or
Function to do great things?
As believers, the first thing that must be strengthened in us is identity.
In the following verses, Satan tempts Jesus saying: If you are the son of
God.
I wanted to destroy the image of God on earth.
Remember that he questions God's truth and distorts it.
The struggle is argument against argument

Identity creates a strong bond with our Father.

3. THE IMPORTANCE OF IDENTITY.

Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Then God said: Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness...
27 God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

God created man in His image to reflect God's life to others.

descendants
God's character must be reflected in our lives.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to walk in them.
Moses, upon encountering God, descended with the glory of God in
his face.
We become what we have a relationship with.

Jesus said to him, 'Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, “Show us the Father?”'

Jesus said to him: 'Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.'

Jesus is the reflection of his father (in image and likeness)

The disciples could see the Father through Jesus.

One of God's purposes is to make Himself known through His children.

One of the problems of dysfunctional homes is the loss of identity and

roles.
Parents forget who they are and live like single individuals, with no responsibilities.
etc.
Who are you at home?... Husband, son, father...

When you don't know who you are, you do what you shouldn't.

4. THE LOSS OF IDENTITY

Luke 15: 11-32

Not many days later, gathering everything, the younger son went far away to a distant province; and
he squandered his possessions living recklessly.

The prodigal son lost his identity as he pursued the desires of his heart, he saw
something attractive to his eyes that captivated his heart, putting aside their relationship
with his father.
I adopt an identity that I observed in others (nowadays seeking icons to whom)

14Y when everything had been wasted, a great famine arose in that province, and began to
to miss it. And he went and approached one of the citizens of that land, who sent him to his estate.
to feed pigs. And he wished to fill his belly with the pods that the pigs were eating,
but no one gave it to him.

I seek help from another person. - Nowadays, people take refuge in their strengths, their
skills, their economy, their state, etc., but does not seek refuge in God.
His position, his place was not the right one, for he resigned himself to live taking care of pigs.
He had needs. - his need could not be fulfilled.

17Y returning to himself, he said, How many hired workers in my father's house have an abundance of bread, and I
Here I am perishing with hunger! I will rise and go to my father, and I will say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven
and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.
To return means to come out of a coma, it's a waking up, becoming aware.
in our reason.
The thought has not completely changed, because it decides to be a
JOURNALIST.
The father does not let him speak as a day laborer.

5. RESTORING OUR IDENTITY

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, 'Abba, Father.' The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15For
you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received
the spirit of adoption, by which we cry, Abba, Father. 16 For the same Spirit gives
testimony to our spirit that we are children of God.

Ephesians 4:13

until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, to the
condition of a mature man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ

2 Corinthians 3:18

Therefore, we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
we are transformed from glory to glory into the same image, as by the Spirit of the Lord.

fear, because I was naked; and I hid.

• Without a relationship with our Father, we cannot reflect who He is.

• We must return to the garden, where we had a relationship with him.

Walking beside Him, we will be transformed into His image, we will return to
the beginning of his will and we will reflect his glory to the nations.
