Set 1 - Words that Work

Its what people read that matters

It is not what you want to say but how others understand it, that is more important

Write with simplicity in mind

Clarity of thought mandatory.

Choice of words pertinent. Remember words kill, words soothe, words unite.

Use some memorable lines from the finest minds ever to roam Planet Earth
Example; Lend me your ears, To be or not to be, Unity is our strength, One Malaysia, Now everyone
can fly

Remember some of the powerful lines by great statesmen and women are simple.
Example; Ask not what your country can do for you, The only thing we have to fear is fear itself
and I have a dream

A sentence must not be more than 15 words in length We will have problems with subject and
predicate.
Example; If a cat is supposed to be bigger than a rat, why do you need anything more than a short
sentence to explain it.

When in doubt read your sentence aloud. If it sounds funny or awkward, change it.

Write as you speak.

Avoid at all costs any translated words with lots of meanings.

Language is a living thing. Need dynamism in language. Introduce new words example Facebook,
iphone, touchscreen.
