Step 1: Make the Tunnel Base

1. Take one sheet of paper and fold it in half the long way \

2. Fold the sides in again to make a square tunnel shape, about 2 inches wide.

3. Use glue to stick the folds so it holds the shape..

Step 2: Make the Paper Door (Trap Flap)

1. Cut a rectangle from your second sheet of paper. It should be about 2 inches
2. Fold a little edge on one side to make a flap for glue.

3. Glue that edge to the top of the tunnel opening so the door hangs down.

4. This flap will be the trap door that closes when the ball comes in.

Step 3: Add the Rubber Band Trigger

1. Take 1 rubber band and stretch it across the front of the tunnel opening.

2. Use tape or glue to stick each end to the sides of the tunnel.

3. Take a second rubber band and tape it between the paper flap and the tunnel floor.

4. This rubber band will pull the flap shut when the ball bumps it.

Step 4: Make It Stronger

1. Add tape to the sides if the tunnel feels wobbly or loose.

2. Make sure the rubber bands are tight, but not ripping the paper.

3. You can add a small paperclip or a folded piece of paper to the bottom of the flap to help
it close faster.

Step 5: Test it if everything was finished

1. Put the ping pong ball about 10 inches in front of the tunnel.

2. Roll the ball straight into the opening.

3. If the ball hits the rubber band, it will pull the flap down and trap the ball inside.

4. It works best when the ball goes fast and the tunnel is lined up straight.
