The Facsimile has been approved in accordance with Council Decision 1999/5/ EC for pan-European single terminal connection to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). However, due to differences between the individual PSTNs provided in different countries, the approval does not, of itself, give an unconditional assurance of successful operation on every PSTN network terminal point. In the event of problems, you should contact your equipment supplier in the first instance. The CE marking must be affixed to the product or to its data plate. Additionally it must be affixed to the packaging, if any, and to the accompanying documents.

Specifying a scanning area size on the original A fax can be sent after the size of the area to be scanned is specified. This is useful when you want to fax only a portion of the original.

Sending originals of different sizes with one operation Faxes of different sizes can be sent by loading the differently-sized originals and enabling the machine to correctly recognize original sizes and to send faxes accordingly. For details, refer to "Sending an original of varying sizes by a single operation (Mixed original)" on page 7-25.
Transmitted and reproduced in the same sizes as the original pages at the destination.
You set original pages of mixed sizes on the ADF.
Sending an original with fold lines Originals with original sizes that cannot be correctly detected due to fold lines can still be sent at the correct size. For details, refer to "Sending an original with folds (Z-folded original)" on page 7-27.

Sending double-paged originals When sending a book or catalog, left and right pages can be divided and sent as single pages. For details, refer to "Sending double-paged originals page by page from right to left (Book copy)" on page 7-13.
Specifying the binding position of double-sided originals The fax can be sent after the binding position of the original is specified and the position of the back of the original page is adjusted. For details, refer to "Specifying the binding position (Binding position)" on page 7-31.

Sending after adjusting the density of background color A fax can be sent by adjusting density of background color of original. For details, refer to "Sending a fax after adjusting the density of background color (Background removal)" on page 7-7.

Sending after emphasizing character edges A fax can be sent by rubbing wash out characters, printing smoothly and adjusting. For details, refer to "Sending the fax after accentuating the text edges (Sharpness)" on page 7-9.
Sending a color fax Color faxes can be sent and received. For details, refer to "Specifying transmission color settings (IP address fax)" on page 3-13. Prohibiting the print out of received originals (Memory RX function) The received original is stored in memory and can be printed if required. This function is known as a Memory RX function. For details, refer to "Handling originals received by memory" on page 8-3.

Internet Fax functions can be used under the following conditions. The machine is connected to a network, and is set to send and receive E-mail Specify the [Administrator Settings] - [Network Settings] - [Network Fax Settings] - [Network Fax Function Settings] of [Utility mode] and set the [Internet Fax Function] to [ON].

E-mail transmission and reception The transmitted original (file attached to E-mail) may get damaged due to network conditions. Be sure that the transmitted original is not damaged. E-mail may not reach the recipient due to problems in the internet network pathway even if "----" is displayed on the Transmission Result Screen (Job List > Job Details > Send > Job History list) or in the result column of Activity Report. "----" displayed on the Transmission Result Screen or the Activity Report indicates that the fax is sent properly. If the reception confirmation (MDN) is received, "OK" is displayed in Transmission Result Screen or in the result column of Activity Report. Use G3 Fax to send and receive important contents.

Features of internet fax

Internet Fax sends and receives scanned originals via intranet and Internet as E-mail attached files (TIFF format). The communication cost can be significantly reduced by communicating via intranet/Internet as compared to the general fax communication,

IP Address Fax can communicate with IP network. You transmit a fax after specifying an IP address or host name for a recipient.

To prevent damage to the touch panel, do not push down on the touch panel with force. Also, do not push down on the touch panel using hard or sharp objects. If the service call screen (page 5-8) is displayed and operations are not possible, write down the trouble code, unplug the main power supply and immediately contact your technical representative, as there may be a risk of breakdown. When contacting your technical representative, inform them of the trouble code you recorded at the time the problem occurred.

Convenient function settings
By registering destinations that you fax often in the Address Book or Group destinations, and registering Program destinations for fax transmission settings that are used often, the registered details can be recalled by simply touching the registered button. Address Book By registering destinations that you fax often in the Address Book, you can recall destinations by simply touching the registered button. Group designation When sending the same fax to multiple destinations, by grouping together and registering destinations registered in the Address Book, multiple destinations can be recalled by simply touching the group destinations button. Program destination If destinations to which faxes are sent often and communication functions that are used often are registered in program destination, the registration details can be called by just touching the program button.

Specify the E-mail address of the recipient. - Address Book - Direct Input - Group destination - Program destination Proceed to procedure 10 to specify a destination as an Address Book, a Group destination or a Program destination. Proceed to procedure 7 to specify a destination by Direct Input. For details on procedures for specifying an E-mail address, refer to "Specifying only one destination" on page 3-17 and "Specifying multiple destinations (broadcast transmission)" on page 3-23. Re-select the destination to be cancelled to cancel the selected destination. All entered numbers and selected settings are cleared on pressing [Reset] key. When [Manual Destination Input] is prohibited, [Direct Input] tab is not displayed. 3.3 Loading the original
Transmission
The original can be loaded on ADF and original glass in this machine. If the original is loaded into the ADF, the original is scanned automatically from the ADF. Loading the original into the ADF If the ADF is used, original with multiple pages can be automatically scanned. In addition, double-sided originals can also be faxed.

Close ADF. The original is sequentially arranged from the first page. Load the original to be faxed facing up into ADF. To record source information correctly, insert the front edge of the original into the ADF.
Adjust the lateral guides. The lateral guides are set to maximum width for the mixed originals, and the original is positioned in line to the inner side.

Loading the original on the original glass If the original glass is used, the original (Thick original like book etc. and thin original), that cannot be loaded into ADF, can be sent.

Open ADF. Position the original face to be send down and load the original pages on the left inner side so that they are aligned with the left side of the scale board.
Close the ADF slowly.

All pages of a multi-page original that cannot be loaded into the ADF can be faxed together using the original glass.

Sending the original using both ADF/original glass

An original is scanned using both ADF and original glass and the original divided into many parts can be scanned after loading on ADF.

Load the original on the ADF or original glass and touch buttons in order of [Scan Settings], [Separate Scan], [OK] and press [Start] key. ADF is given priority among original glass and ADF.

Color transmission and reception is possible only when IP Address Fax are used. Color faxes cannot be transmitted or received in internet fax. The recipients machine should correspond to IP Address Fax.

Select the desired mode from "Color". [Auto Color]: Automatically detects the color of the original and scans accordingly. [Full Color]: Scans at full color. [Gray Scale]: Select this setting when the original is full of halftone colors such as in black-and-white photo. [Black]: Select this setting for an original which has only black and white colors without any gray. File type is fixed to PDF in color transmission mode. When gray scale is selected, transmission image becomes monochromatic.

Original Type Set the Original Type as per the original contents.
There are following 5 types of Original Type. At the time of purchase, original type is set for [Text/Photo]. [Text]: Touch only when the text original is to be scanned. The photo original becomes dark if it is scanned by selecting this mode without repeating the neutral color of the photo. [Text/Photo]: Touch when originals with text and photos (half tone) mixed together, are to be scanned. Select this mode when text and photos are mixed together on 1 page or when text and photos are mixed together on multiple pages. [Photo]: Touch only when the photo (half tone) original is to be scanned. [Dot Matrix Original]: Touch when the originals with light text like the text written by pencil etc. is scanned. [Copied Paper]: Touch when the copied image is scanned as original.

Transmission Simplex/Duplex Set the scanning mode in ADF as per the original condition.
The 3 types of scanning modes are as follows. At the time of purchase, mode is set to [1-Sided]. [1-Sided]: Touch to scan 1-sided original. [2-Sided]: Touch to scan 2-sided original. [Cover + 2-Sided]: Touch to scan cover and 2-sided original. Only the front side is scanned for cover page and the back side is also scanned from the second page onwards. Resolution Set the resolution to get a fine scanned original.
There are following 5 types for Resolution. At the time of purchase, resolution is set to [200e200 (Fine)]. [200e100 (Standard)]: Touch when transmission time is to be shortened. [200e200 (Fine)]: Touch to scan the normal original. [300e300dpi]: Touch to scan the normal original of a higher resolution. [400e400 (Super Fine)]: Touch to scan the original having small text and figures. [600e600 (Ultra Fine)]: Touch to scan especially fine originals with fine drawings and text.

When [300 e 300dpi] is selected, it is converted to 400 e 400dpi and transmitted. However, if compact PDF is selected at the time of IP Address Fax transmission, it is transmitted at 300 e 300dpi. The communication time increases for more fine scanning and large amount of information to be transmitted.
Density Set the density as per the original contents.
Density can be set in 9 levels. At the time of purchase, density is set to [Standard]. [Light]: Touch for light scanning. [Standard]: Touch for normal scanning. [Dark]: Touch for dark scanning.

Specifying from registered destination When the Address Book is registered, specification can be done by searching from registered search text. % Touch the desired destination button in displayed [Address Book] tab. When desired destination button is not displayed, it can be searched by the following methods. Touch search text button Searching by destination type Enter the details and search Re-select the destination to be cancelled to cancel the selected destination. If [Reset] key is pressed, the selected destination and the settings are cleared. For details on registered destination, refer to the "Registering the address book" on page 9-4. Checking the settings

The destination that was specified can be checked under Broadcast Destinations on the left panel, and the setting details can be checked on the settings screen. Auto rotation of original An A4 or 8-1/2 e 11 original loaded in the v orientation is automatically rotated and sent in the w orientation. When A4 or 8-1/2 e 11 document pages are loaded in the v orientation to be sent together with longer document pages, the A4 or 8-1/2 e 11 document pages are sent without being rotated to the w orientation. In this case, it can be rotated and transferred by setting the mixed original. For details on mixed original, refer to "Sending an original of varying sizes by a single operation (Mixed original)" on page 7-25.

When unable to send

When IP address fax is used, if the fax cannot be sent because the recipients line was busy, it can be transmitted again by using the redial function. The redial function of this function has auto redial, manual redial.

The destination cannot be changed with auto redial or manual redial. Even after redialing, when the fax cannot be sent because of problems with the line, refer to "Fax cannot be sent (IP address fax)" on page 5-4. There is no E-mail resending function in internet fax. When you cannot send a fax, refer to "Fax cannot be sent (Internet fax)" on page 5-3.
Redial Dialing again at the same destination is known as redial. When fax cannot be sent since the line of recipients fax machine is busy, the number is redialed after the lapse of the specific period. Before redialing, the sent job is treated to be job queued of the redial stand by. Auto redial function When it is unable to send the fax because the recipients line is busy, it is automatically redialed as per the auto redial function, which is set through the Line Parameter Settings.

There are two methods of E-mail reception; auto-acquisition and manual acquisition. When this machine receives an E-mail, the E-mail text and any attached files are printed automatically. When printing the received fax, the page size of the received document is compared with the size of the loaded paper, and the fax is printed by reducing at the specified reduction rate or by reducing so as to fit the loaded paper. However, if printing is set for equal size printing, the received fax is printed of the same size regardless of the paper size of the received fax.

Sending a fax after adjusting the density of background color (Background removal)
Background Removal is a function that adjusts the density of the background color of the original. If original background is colored, the background of the transmission data becomes black when it is scanned. When the book and catalog etc. is sent by fax, the original is divided into right and left pages and is sent page by page. There are following types of book copy.

Sending a fax with the specified original scanning area (Scan size)
When the paper width on the recipients side is smaller than the paper size of the original that is sent, the original is reduced and then printed. When the original is not to be reduced, and the scan size is specified for the paper size on the recipients side, the original of the original size can be sent.

The original scanning position of an original loaded on ADF is different from the original scanning position of an original loaded on original glass. When Scan Size and mixed Original Setting are specified at the same time, the size specified in Scan Size is applied.

Confirming that the original is scanned (TX stamp)

When the fax is to be sent using ADF, whether each page of the original has been scanned or not can be confirmed by adding the completion stamp to the scanned original. A 4 mm (1/4 inch) diameter pink colored - stamp is added on the bottom edge of the front side of the original. When both sides are to be sent, the completion stamp is added on the front side.

In order to use the TX Stamp function, optional Stamp Unit must be installed. The stamp ink is a consumable commodity. When the stamping becomes light, contact your technical representative. When a mixed original is selected, the completion stamp may not be stamped on the above-mentioned position. Even if completion stamp setting is specified, the completion stamp may not be added if the original sending is multiplexed, etc. Send the document once again. Check whether the original has been correctly faxed or not from the transmission result report and the transmission report of settings confirmation screen.

Original Name is a function to specify the filename of the scanned data at the time of Internet Fax transmission. When an original name is not specified, the original is named automatically on the basis of the following rules. "SKMBT_C55006102315230" is explained as an example.

9.2 Registering the address book
Fax numbers, E-mail addresses and registered boxes for destinations to which transmissions are frequently sent can be registered in the Address Book. The registered Address Book can be used from [Address Book] tab of Fax/Scan screen. A maximum of 2000 destinations (0001 - 2000) including scanner destinations and destinations of other functions of this machine can be registered. If search characters are registered at the time of registering the destinations, the destinations can be specified using the search characters. Operations related to registering Address Book, changing registered destinations and deleting registered destinations are explained below.

Check the registration contents and touch [Yes] and then touch [OK].
The registration name can be changed on touching [Name]. Index screen is also displayed after the changes. Search characters can be changed on touching [Index]. The destination is registered.

9.3 Registering group destinations
Multiple Address Book destinations can be grouped and registered in Group destinations. It is useful when same contents are to be used in broadcast transmission. Up to 100 Group destinations (01 - 99, 00) can be registered including the groups used in scanner functions. Up to 500 Address Book destinations can be registered in one Group destination. Only Address Book destinations can be registered in Group destination. Group destination should be registered after registering the Address Book destinations. A group name can be given to each group. The operations for registering destination and name in Group destinations, operations for changing registered Group destinations, operations for deleting registered Group destinations are explained below.

Scan Settings, Original Settings, Communication Settings can be combined with frequent transmission destinations and registered in program destinations. If these are registered in program destinations, the functions such as Scan Settings, Original Settings, Communication Settings and registered destinations can be called, specified and transmitted by just touching the program button. A maximum of 400 (001 - 400) Program destinations can be registered including program destinations of other functions like scanner, etc. Program names can be registered in program destinations. The operations of program registration, changing registered programs, deleting registered programs are explained below.

Changing the destination level (Apply levels/Groups to destinations)

This function is used for information security to specify specific destination information so that only a specific person can access. It can be used in conjunction with user authentication and information on the destination level that matches the specified user level can be accessed. The [Destination Level Settings] in [One-Touch/User Box Registration] levels can be changed within the level permitted in the [Apply Levels/Groups to Destinations] in [User Authentication/Account Track].

Level settings can be set from "Level 0 (Low)" - "Level 5 (High)" and can be changed only to Level 0, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 for users who are permitted up to Level 3.

Utility mode can be specified in PageScope Web Connection. PageScope Web Connection is a device management utility provided by the HTTP server that is embedded in the device. The settings of this machine can be changed by activating the Web browser with a network computer and accessing the PageScope Web Connection. The registered Sender name can be selected from Scan Settings screen at the time of transmission. Report/List types
This machine prints the following types of reports and lists. Reports Reports include automatically printed reports, reports for which printing methods can be set and reports for which printing commands can be given if required.
Report Name Activity Report Description Sending and receiving records are described in this report. A total of 100 communications including transmission and reception are recorded on different pages for transmission and reception respectively. The Activity Report is printed automatically and reports displaying transmission records only, reception records only or transmission and reception records together can be printed independently. Printing interval can be selected from OFF/Daily / Every 100 Comm. / 100/Daily in Administrator Settings of the Utility mode. Report output time can also be specified when Activity Report output is set to [Daily] or [100 /daily]. By touching the buttons in this order: [Job List] > [Job Details] > [Send] > [Job History] [Comm. List], the following content can be selected and printed out. TX Report RX Report Activity Report Transmission result is printed automatically. The printing time can be selected from ON /If TX Fails / OFF in the TX Result Report settings of the Utility mode. Broadcast Report is printed automatically when the sequential broadcast ends when [Sequential TX Report] in the [Report Settings] of the Utility mode is set to [ON]. When [Network Fax RX Error Report] in [Report Setting] of the Utility mode is set to [ON], report is printed when network fax cannot be received normally. When [MDN Message] in [Report Setting] of the Utility mode is set to [ON], MDN message is automatically printed when the response that senders machine is on, is acquired. (MDN=Abbreviation of Message Disposition Notifications) When [DSN Message] is set to [ON] in the Utility modes [Report Settings], the DSN message sent to the sender when an E-mail arrives at the recipients mail server is automatically printed out when it is received. A standard hard disk of 60 GB is installed in this machine and the fax image is saved in 31 GB area in this hard disk. Approximately 10000 pages of originals of standard size paper (A4/Letter with approximately 700 characters), saved/received from each function (copy, print, scan, box, fax) can be stored in the hard disk. (When stored at "Fine" resolution)

Appendix Touching [Shift] switches the keyboard display between lowercase letters (numbers) and uppercase letters (symbols).
Enlarging the keyboard The keyboard can be displayed larger so that it easier to read.
While the keyboard is displayed, touch [Enlarge ON]. The keyboard is displayed enlarged.
To cancel the enlarged display and return the keyboard to its normal size, touch [Enlarge OFF] while the keyboard is displayed enlarged.

A communication mode to transmit and receive the scanned original via intranet and internet between internet fax and computer as E-mail attached files (TIFF format). MDN = Abbreviation of Message Disposition Notifications. Open confirmation message is sent when there is a request for confirming whether the senders machine is ON. Abbreviation of Post Office Protocol - Version 3. A communication protocol (scheduled communication) generally used for transmission and reception of E-mail. There are functions like Mail box authentication, E-mail downloading, List information confirmation and E-mail deletion. Abbreviation of Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. A communication protocol (scheduled communication) generally used for transmission and reception of E-mail.

Fax glossary
Terms that are generally used for fax transmission are explained. Terms of the functions that are not stored for this function are also explained.
Terms 2in1 Abbreviation/Address Description A function to send the page set as double-paged after mixing the 2 page original on one paper. A function to register the fax number of the destination where fax is frequently sent. When abbreviation/address is to be registered, if the destination name and the searched character is registered, it is even possible to specify the destination using the searched character of the abbreviated selection. A function to forward the received original manually in stand using the setting confirmation button of the touch panel. Alternate forwarding is set when the operation is interrupted due to no paper or misfeed when Fax/Scan screen is displayed. A function to send the original after adjusting the brightness of the background color of the original. A function to auto send one original at a specified time when the transmission conditions of destination, sending time, memory transmission or resolution etc. are stored in the same original memory. Specifies the transmission speed of the modem for fax. In this function, the fax can be communicated at a high transmission speed of 33,600bps. When set to overseas communication mode, communication is at high transmission speed a with a noise of 7200bps or 4800bps. Abbreviation of bit per second. bps is the amount of data sent in 1 second as the unit of data transmission. A single original is sent to many recipients in one operation. This function posts the originals to be viewed, or stores the originals to be transmitted through polling. A function for sending and receiving originals to be viewed only by specific persons. The sent confidential original is saved in a confidential box on the recipients fax machine and is not printed when it is received. The received original can be printed if a specific operation is performed, for example, the access code for the confidential box is entered. The setting value specified in advance when the machine was shipped from the factory. Some default settings can be changed from the Utility mode. It is convenient when frequently used value is set as default settings depending on the usage conditions. There are three types: PB (push-button (tone) dialing), 10PPS (pulse dialing at 10 pps), and 20PPS (pulse dialing at 20 pps). A function for specifying the binding position of a double-sided original sent using the ADF. There is top/bottom binding, where the binding position is at the top (or bottom) of the original, and there is left/right binding, where the binding position is at the left (or right) of the original. The top and bottom positions of the second side of the original differ. Error Correction Mode: Error resend mode of G3 communication. Confirms whether the data is correctly sent to the recipient or not and if the data is not correctly sent, communicates and resends the same data. If the recipient is set for the ECM mode and as long as ECM off is not specified in this machine, the communication is done by ECM. The identification code for the mutual recognition when fax is transmitted. Normally the fax number is registered as the Sender fax No. A communication procedure about the usage of sub-address of T.30* standardized by ITU-T (international telecommunication union) provided by Japanese Communications Industrial Corporation. In the communication between fax with F-code function, various functions that use F-code can be used even if the maker is different. In this machine, Fcode is used by the bulletin boards, relay request, confidential box transmission and password transmission. (*Communication standard) Function to store the received original in memory and to print if required. A function for erasing the black shadow appeared on the left, right, upper and lower side of the original while scanning the original formed of booklet keeping ADF open and then transmitting the fax. A Fax communication mode standardized by the ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union). There are G3 and G4 communication modes. Currently, G3 is the most frequently used mode. Grouping of the abbreviation No. of multiple groups. It is convenient when there are large numbers of reception of sequential broadcast and sequential polling in the same address.

A function for sending original pages longer than A3 size (420mm/16-1/2 inch). Long originals can be transmitted after specifying the setting for long originals. Horizontal direction for scanning originals. Operation to send a fax while checking the conditions of the receiving machine. A location where data is temporarily stored. The memory is used when communication is specified or temporarily stored in the original. Condition where the fax memory becomes full when scanned originals or temporarily stored originals are stored. Procedure for starting a fax transmission after an original is scanned and stored in the memory. If the memory transmission is used, the total number of pages are automatically printed in the page number of the transmission source information and an image of the first page of the sent original is included in the transmission report. However, the memory may become full if there are many pages in the original or if the data is large due to fine image quality. This is a function to detect and send the respective size of original by setting the original with different sizes. Used for quick memory transmission to send the fax with the number of pages indicated. This allows the recipient to check whether the all pages were received or not (In case of memory transmission, the total no. of pages are automatically added). A function to communicate with an overseas recipient. If an overseas communication mode is set, the fax is sent at a lower speed. Specifying an overseas transmission mode when faxing to the location where transmission conditions are poor, even within the country, ensures that the fax can be sent. A function for sending a fax with a password. If the recipients fax machine is set for closed network receptions, the sender must send the same password as the recipients closed network reception password. A temporary break in dialing. In this machine, each pause creates a one second break during dialing. Push telephone line A function for sending an original loaded on the machine or stored in the memory when requested by the recipient. A function for registering fax numbers of destination that is sent and received frequently and operation procedures of preset transmission. After simply touching the program button, the destination is specified and the communication can be automatically performed with the specified functions. A method to start sending of fax by scanning one page of the original at the same time. Function to send the original without overflowing the memory even in case of multiple originals. A function for dialing a fax number again after waiting for a specified length of time, for example, if the recipients line was busy. There are 2 dialing methods like the manual dialing for manually redialing the number and the auto dialing for automatically redialing the number. A function to avoid the reception of the troublesome fax after registering in advance the received telephone number of the recipient which is to be denied. When the registered telephone number matches with the receiving telephone number, the [Receiving Rejection] message is displayed and fax is not received. A function to transmit the broadcasting via other fax (Called as a relay distribution station). When there are multiple broadcast destinations at distant places, one of the broadcast destination is specified to the relay station and the entire amount of the communication charges can be reduced after relay transmitting from the relaying station. A feature to broadcast the fax to the relay distribution station after receiving the relay request from the relay instruction station. The relay distribution function is not set in this function. A fax machine that sends the relay broadcast request. A function for specifying that a fax be received using a remote number from an external telephone. This is a function to resend the specific original stored in the memory that couldnt be sent either to same destination or to another destination. Degree of details when scanning an original. The higher the resolution, more detailed is the image and as such more time is required for transmission (transmission time). Select the appropriate resolution.

Terms Scan Size Description A function for specifying the scanning size of an original and transmitting it. When the paper width on the recipients side is smaller than the paper size of the original that is sent, normally the original is reduced and then printed. When the original is not to be reduced, and the scan size is specified for the paper size on the recipients side, the original of the original size can be sent. The operation of optically scanning the original and converting it to image data. Making a call. The fax machine sends an original and dials for polling. This is a function to send an original by enhancing the edge of character. Vertical direction for scanning originals. G3 communication mode standardized by ITU-T V. 34. The communication can be carried out at a higher speed (high speed of 33,4000 bps) than that of usual G3 communication. This is a function for automatically saving the received original in the memory when the machine cannot print the received original, such as when the machine has run out of paper. When more paper is added, the temporarily saved original is printed. A function for sending a fax at a specified time. It is economical to communicate at discounted calling times, such as late at night or early in the morning. A function to reserve the next sending during transmission or while printing. The name of this machine is indicated in alphanumeric characters. Name is printed as a part of the transmission source at the edge of the transmitted original from the recipients machine. When a fax is sent, the transmission time, name, telephone number, page number that is to be printed at the edge of the original is saved on the recipients machine. The time required to send a fax. The higher the resolution or larger the paper, more time is required for transmission. A communication mode used for fax communication of Super G3. When the recipients machine or this machine is connected through a private switchboard, communication with Super G3 mode may not be possible depending on the setup of the telephone line. In such cases, fax can be sent after setting the Super G3 mode to Off by selecting V. 34 OFF. A function to scan and send the original when the original size is confirmed for originals whose original size cannot be correctly detected since there are a number of folds. This function can be used only when the original is scanned by ADF.
