POSITION TITLE: Commuter Services Intern, Chalon Campus POSITION SUMMARY: The Student Programming and Commuter Services office at Mount St. Marys College is seeking an intern at the Chalon campus to assist with programming and services offered to commuter students. The Chalon campus is located off of Sunset Boulevard and Bundy Drive in the Brentwood area near UCLA. The Commuter Services Intern will provide a friendly, energetic, and service-oriented environment for students and the college community. The Commuter Services Intern assists with the supervision of a staff of two student Commuter Assistants. This is a part-time, 5-month position involving some evening and weekend commitments. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist with the ongoing assessment and development of Commuter Services. 2. Coordinate aspects of Commuter Services programming and services which includes but not limited to the Off Campus Housing List, Locker registration, Commuter Caf, and monthly events 3. Support the planning of Student Programming and Commuter Services sponsored events. May be requested to plan and coordinate traditional events sponsored by Student Programming and Commuter Services such as Welcome Week, Welcome Commuter Brunches, Athenian Week, and Weekend Programming 4. Manage departmental budget which involve compiling, recording transactions and accounting, processing financial forms for payments and reimbursements with approval from Director. 5. Assist with supervision of two student staff serving as Commuter Assistants. 6. Assist with the coordination of student publications as assigned (i.e Chalon Student News postings, Commuter Newsletter, department brochure, etc). 7. Perform other duties as requested related to Student Affairs at Mount St. Marys College.

Qualifications:
A graduate student in the field of Higher Education Administration, College Student Services or Counseling with an interest in working with traditional baccalaureate college students. Some Student Activities or co-curricular involvement is preferred. Experience working in a diverse college setting and/or office environment preferred.

5-Month position: This is a 5-month position beginning on Monday, August 20, 2012 and ending on Friday, November 30, 2012. Vacation time does not apply to this position. This position is not eligible for any College benefits. Stipend offered.
