IBA Training Centre

How it begins
At a special ordinary meeting held in Luxembourg earlier 1965, Mr. Leo Van Vugt, President of the Netherlands Bartenders Club expressed that the I.B.A. should do something for young barmen. From his suggestion the idea of a Training Centre was realised. Mr. Jean Schambourg, President of the Luxembourg Bartenders Association was tasked to look into the possibilities of setting up the training centre in Luxembourg, which was a central location accessible by most European countries The centre was officially established during the 14th IBA Meeting held on 26th November, 1965 at the Hotel Billia, St.Vincent, Val dAosta, Italy. The International Bartenders Association Training Centre was established under the patronage of the I.B.A. and a Supervisory Council was established consisting of: Director: President: Vice-President: Committee: Mr. Schambourg Mr. Angelo Zola Mr. Charles Tuck Mr. Leo van Vugt Mr. Gustave Tops

The first course began on the first quarter of the following year in Luxembourg till 1972 during the Presidency of Mr Angelo Zola.
