YOUNG PROFESSIONAL CHAPTER CONSTITUTION

Turning Point USA Young Professionals at [CITY/REGION NAME] Constitution

PREAMBLE:

[Optional: Use this section to define your chapter’s guiding values and beliefs.]

ARTICLE I. ORGANIZATION

Section 1: Name

The name of this chapter shall be Turning Point USA (TPUSA) Young Professionals at [CITY/REGION
NAME].

Section 2: Mission Statement

Turning Point USA’s mission is to educate and empower young professionals about the importance
of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and constitutional rights through innovative events,
professional development, and thought-provoking discussion. This is accomplished with the support
of national TPUSA resources, including educational materials, guest speakers, networking
opportunities, and direct support from TPUSA staff.

Section 3: Registration

The chapter operates independently in alignment with the national TPUSA organization. The
Executive Board is responsible for registering the chapter and maintaining its status as a recognized
professional organization.

Section 4: Purpose

The purpose of this chapter is to promote and uphold the principles of limited government, fiscal
responsibility, free markets, and constitutional rights among young professionals through informed
discussion, networking, and community engagement.

ARTICLE II. MEMBERSHIP

Section 1: Voting Members

Voting membership is open to all young professionals in [CITY/REGION NAME] who have attended
at least 6 meetings in the calendar year and are in good standing with the chapter and the national
organization.

Section 2: Associate Members


Associate members are individuals who support the chapter’s mission but may not meet the criteria
for voting membership. They may participate in chapter events but may not vote or hold officer
positions.

Membership is open to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex,
veteran status, disability, or handicap.

ARTICLE III. LEADERSHIP

Section 1: Governance

Chapter affairs are managed by its Officers, who are responsible for setting direction, enforcing
rules, and overseeing operations.

Section 2: Officer Roles

The chapter must have at least three officer positions, which include:

Co Presidents

Vice President

Secretary

Treasurer

Additional roles (such as Social Media Officer or Events Coordinator) may be created as needed.

Section 3: Officer Responsibilities

Co President

Leads all meetings and events

Acts as liaison with TPUSA leadership and local partners

Appoints interim officers in the event of resignations

Ensures the chapter adheres to the national mission

Vice President

Assists the President and steps in as needed

Maintains order during meetings

Helps coordinate chapter activities and programming

Secretary

Maintains membership lists and records


Takes and distributes meeting minutes

Sends regular updates to members and manages chapter documents

Treasurer

Oversees chapter finances and accounts

Handles reimbursements and fundraising efforts

Prepares annual budget with other officers

Section 4: Election Process

Elections will be held annually. Every September

Candidates must be announced at least one week in advance.

Officers serve for one calendar year, beginning on Election Day.

Section 5: Officer Removal and Vacancies

Officers may be removed by unanimous vote of the remaining officers and Vacant positions are filled
by officer appointment based on the board voting someone into the vacant position.

● Can be reelected after one full election cycle after removal from the board

Appointed positions will serve the remainder of the term, can re-run, and can be reelected during the
next election cycle.

ARTICLE IV. MEETINGS

Official meeting will be held at least once per month.

To be classified as a meeting, it must be an officially sanctioned event thrown by TPUSA Young


Professionals Phoenix Chapter.

Additional meetings can be scheduled by the officers but will not count towards the one official
meeting

ARTICLE V. RECORDS

The Secretary and Treasurer must maintain accurate records of:


Meeting minutes

Membership/ Attendance

Chapter activities and finances

Records must be accessible to officers and members upon request.

Must keep records of the board votes

ARTICLE VI. Voting

Section 1: Voting

Board Decisions are approved by majority rule of officers- this applies to general member removal,
committee chair applications, funds that are spent, event proposals and other agenda items called
to a vote by the executive board

Section 2: Amendments

Amendments are voted into effect by a majority vote from the officers of the board

Section 3: Chapter Requirements

Regardless of any amendments, the following must remain:

At least three officer roles (President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer)

Annual elections are held in September
