New Year’s Resolution Essay

Description of the Resolution


At the beginning of the year, I set a New Year’s resolution to maintain a daily journaling
habit. Inspired by research and personal stories about the benefits of journaling, my goal
was to improve my mental clarity, cultivate mindfulness, and reduce stress. I envisioned
this habit helping me process emotions better and track personal growth throughout the
year. With high hopes and strong determination, I bought a notebook and committed to
writing in it every evening before bed.

Experience of Stress
However, the excitement of starting this new habit was soon overshadowed by unexpected
stress. Life became busier than anticipated, and on some days, I found myself too tired to
write. Each skipped day led to feelings of guilt and self-doubt. As the article explains,
