We need items that will help create a National Park environment for our
kids for our AWESOME VBS this year! Please think about what you
might already have that could add to a National Park theme.
Some ideas would be:
Articial Christmas trees, camping tents, big ol' stuffed animals (forest
animals), tree logs, silk plants, pine cones, items you might nd in a
cabin or in a ranger station (old maps).
We would appreciate your help and will return your donations at the end of VBS. Please
make sure your name and phone number is on each item so we can return them to you
promptly! Please contact the Church ofce (480-991-9878) or Tracy Drury (602-494-9255)
with your ideas and contributions.

Memorial Day
Remembrances
"I have never been able to
think of the day as one of
mourning; I have never
quite been able to feel that
half-masted flags were
appropriate on Decoration Day. I have rather felt that the
flag should be at the peak, because those whose dying we
commemorate rejoiced in seeing it where their valor
placed it. We honor them in a joyous, thankful,
triumphant commemoration of what they did. " --

Open Mic Night
Join us for an evening of great
music and food! Open Mic Night will be Friday,
June 1, from 6-8 p.m. in the Commons.
Everyone is invited! Dinner will be served so
please let us know if you are coming and plan to eat. We will ask for
donations to help cover the cost of food.
Do you have talent? We'd love to hear from you! Each performer will
have ten minutes. Contact Adrienne at adrienne.armes@chaparral.org
for more information about performing.
Can we help?
If we can assist you by providing a walker or
wheelchair on Sunday morning, please call the
Church ofce during the week and we can have one
ready for you (480-991-9878).
Choir: You deserve a break!
Beginning this week our wonderful choir will be off for
the summer! Dont worry we will still have awesome
music to your ears! Thank you to all who lift their
voices for our worship.
Save the DATE!
Chaparral will host a good-bye celebration for the Armes on
Sunday night, July 15
th
. Details to be determined. We are
putting together a remembrance scrapbook for them and if
you have any photos or letters you would like to add, please
let Jackie Huber or Gail Arnold know. If you would like to
help with the celebration, please let Stacy know!
We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help
you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning
programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad
you are here today!

We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which
you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your
information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear
from everyone!
Communion/Lords Supper
All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion.
If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you
are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as
they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while
it is in front of them before passing it along.
Offering
In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an
act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time
specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving
as you are led.
Nursery
We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the
north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions.
