For this assignment I decided to show off two comps, the Main page, and an Island page. You main page would be the index page that you navigate to when you first click on the link. The intro video would play as a popup as it does now in the center of the page. You would be able to close the popup at any time. On the actual page the big banner of the galapagos turtle would be a slideshow of scenic pictures from the set of islands, attempting to stay with pictures that have colors in my color scheme. My color scheme would include tropical type colors, like Orange, Blue, Light Blue, Green, Sea Green, etc. The Featured content bar on the main page is for as many pieces of content you would like, I only have 4 shown on this demo. Then the bottom right of the main page would house a similar module as in the origional, however you wouldnt be able to directly link to the stories people, and places, and facts from here. You would click on the island you want to learn more about and it would take you to that islands homepage. The next comp that I have is of the homepage for the island, Santa Cruz. On this page you would have a slideshow of pictures from the island, which is right next to featured content. This featured content pane would show featured content for that Island alone. Underneath all of this is the same module as the origional where you are to select stories, people, places, and facts. Then the Pins would pop up on the map and you could select the options from there. Initially all of the options would be selected showing a color coded set of pins for each category, then when you actually selected an option it would only focus on those pins and remove the others. I made this design decision because I felt as though the pins of the same kind on the winter mape were overwhelming, and now that we could use a bigger map to display the islad it shouldn tbe that bad. Further, the next comp that I would do would be the one for the individual content, featured, stories, people, places, facts, etc. It would look just like an online article, nothing special.
