Maiocco called the Twenty-Second Regular Meeting of the Medford City Council to order at 7:00 P.M at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, Medford City Hall.

COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR 12-470 May 31, 2012 To: President Robert Maiocco and Members of the Medford City Council From: Michael J. McGlynn Mayor Re: Vacant Lot of land at zero Washington Street, Medford, MA Parcel W-26, 2,562 Square feet of land. Dear Mr. President and Members of the Medford City Council: I respectfully request and hereby recommend that your Honorable Body approve the sale of the above captioned parcel of vacant land to Michael Chan of 2 Magoun Avenue and Ellen Koplow, Linda Lintz and Joseph Yee, the owners/trustees of the 83 Washington Street Condominium located at 83 Washington Street, Medford, MA. This parcel of land consists of 2,562 square feet of land. The purchase price for this land, in accordance with values set by the Assessors Office, is $3,868.00. The prospective buyers are the abutters on each side of the property and will divide the land equally. I am attaching a copy of the Assessors Plan that shows the lot as Parcel W-26. After Council approval, deeds to the abutters and new plans in recordable form will be drafted. The Buyers will be required to pay the real estate taxes on this parcel in accordance with M.G.L. c. 44, Sec. 63A.1 Respectfully Submitted, Signature on file with Paper Mayor Michael J. McGlynn
Basically this means that the buyers will be paying the real estate taxes for the number of days remaining in the fiscal year and, since the property is being sold after January 2, an amount equal to the real estate taxes for the next fiscal year.
