PLAN OF ACTIVITIES MARCH, 8 2012 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WORKING WOMAN ACTIVITIES IN TUTORIALS We want to do an activity through which students

become aware or the inequalities that still exist around us. The current situation presents an equality in the law which is inconsistent with equality in real life. To detect this difference, we use the metaphor to wear purple glasses and rule of inversion (in a situation to be analyzed, we change the gender of the protagonist- if it is male, we try to see him as a women and vice versa- and if something seems strange, it is because there is a gender difference). 1. ANNEX II: DYNAMICS TITLE: Guess who I am TARGET: Students of 1, 4 and 4 of ESO AGE: from 12 to 16 years OBJECTIVES: To sensitize teenagers to gender equality To identify roles and gender stereotypes in everyday situations Promote participation and social ideals in the classroom - DESCRIPTION/ DEVELOPMENT: 1. First, we introduce and explain the day we are celebrating and why we are going to do this activity. 2. We distribute a paper with sentences to students and they are asked to associate each sentence with name, which may be a women or a man. 3. After that, we discuss the answer with the students 4. It is useful to ask Do you believe that this reflects a discriminatory situation? Or Do you think this is like that? So they can discuss their answer with others. 5. After this, the teacher will explain there are some magic glasses which explain the law of inversion. 6. Then, there would be a discussion with the phrases and gender change has occurred. NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 20 students MATERIAL: paper with the sentences SPACE: a classroom in the centre TIME: 2 or 3 hours in total
