Lucys article is entitled, Using Principals and Policies of Maritime Arbitration to Guide Responsible Parties in Oil Spill Claims Resolution.

2. Review of the NYC East/West Event with the International Law Committee Chris attended this event in New York; working with the international law committee to further our committees plans for a stand-alone event.

3. SEALI conference next week conference will be next week at Amelia Island. Topics to be covered include marine issues involving pollution, personal injury and criminal investigations. Registration is still open for those that are interested. Buford Pollett addressed highlights of this seminar.

4. ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago (August 2-6) more details on meeting times and events will be provided at the next call. The tentative agenda includes: a. AMLC business meeting August 4 (with speaker Gavin OHare) b. Special events i. Maritime-centric lunch at Chicago Yacht Club or Navy Pier

ii. Joint event with the business law committee

5. MLA Fall Meeting - Joint Event with MLA for Friday 2 pm CLE a. Jessica Martyn and Lili Beneda reported that they are working with the MLA CLE chair to put together a CLE program involving the P&I Clubs; submit proposal to the ABA for the Chicago meeting.

6. Coordinated Efforts with the MLA during the ABA-MLA liaison meeting during MLA Week in May, we discussed providing a list of the leadership to the MLA in an effort to work on cross-marketing/recruiting efforts; submission was made two weeks ago.

7. Discussions resulting from Charleston/Gordon Schreck - Gordon has indicated his interest in working with the AMLC on behalf of the MLA to determine appropriate joint events and recruiting.

8. July Newsletter article anticipated on bills of lading and the SMA, armed guards on vessels and piracy, pitfalls involving gvt. owned marinas, Trade Talk piece will highlight Wook Chung, General Counsel at Hanjin Shipping in Paramus, NJ.

9. Job opportunity - Exxon Mobil (Va, then Tx) further details on LinkedIn webpage; AET in Tx as well.

10.TIPS survey recently published - admiralty committee submission - Jessica Martyn will be the lead on the survey article this year. If you are interested in contributing to the article please contract Jessica at jessica.martyn@troutmansanders.com

11.Survey for membership - Pamela Schultz is working on preparing a membership satisfaction survey on Survey Monkey.
