Project Expenses Administrative Expenses

Honduras Childrens Project is $2700.80 paying for the college education of a Copprome graduate, Oscar Sanchez, so that he can return to teach the children in four years. We have hired three adults to read to the children during the evenings. They are instructed to work individually with the kids, teaching them to read proficiently. HCP is bringing three laptop computers to Copprome Orphanage for use by the students. Honduras Childrens Project is paying for special education assistance for four Copprome children. We provide school materials- notebooks, pens, pencils, and more; reading books for all ages; and uniforms shirts, skirts/pants, and shoes- for the children.

Fundraising: Spaghetti Dinner Honduras Childrens Project hosted a Spaghetti Dinner on July 31, 2011. With nearly 100 in attendance, we raised over Inventory $1000. Income Breakdown Durham Fair Honduras Childrens Project sold chocolate-covered bacon at the Durham Fair, September 22-25, 2011. We sold over 2000 pieces, with gross revenues of more than $5000. HCP intends to sell at the Durham Fair again this year.

Honduran Products We sell handmade products from Honduras in the United States at local bazaars, craft fairs, and online. Some products are open-air market items, while others are trashy products: Trashy products The women of Villa Soleada work tirelessly picking the trash up off the streets, cleaning it off, and then weaving it into intricate handbags, earrings, and bracelets. These women are provided with their daily sustenance, while the streets are cleaned of the garbage. All proceeds benefit Honduras Childrens Project and its efforts to provide an educational after-school program for the children of Copprome Orphanage. Donations Honduras Childrens Project has solicited donations online, via regular and electronic mail, and through other media.
