POM POM PASSION

NOTE...For best results I found that casting on and knitting the way this video How to knit with pom pon yarn show's give's a much neater edge and neater rows. Thanks to hulucrafts for the video. Materials...100g of pom pon yarn, I used Marbella by Lidl's but Rico pompon is just the same so would work perfect too. Also sirdar snowball would also work fine. 3.75mm(no9) + 4mm(no8) needle's. Also contrasting dk yarn for sewing the seams,(to be used doubled), 1 button(3cm) button is optional. Tension...12 sts (6 pompons) and 20 rows (10 pompons) is 10cm/10cm 4/4....Please note this bag can be made to any desired length you like just note that working an odd number of rows will give you the same amount of pompoms on each side of your panel.

Abreviations...K-Knit, G-st-Garter stitch, St(s)-Stitch(es), PP-Pompon's, T-N-C-O-Three-needle cast off Note...This pattern is worked in three parts, comprising of two panel's and the handle. The panel's are cast of using the T-N-CO, using both strands from each panel. I also advice to follow the same method as in the cast off in the video, pushing the top pp through the gap before completing the cast off. (This will create a neater edge as this will be the inside and it gives you a nice strong seam and a flat base) Pattern...Using 3.75mm needle's and the cast on method shown in the link, Cast on 24 sts, This will give you 12 pp. Row's 1- 31...Change to 4mm needle's, Knit in g-st every row (this will give you 32 pp's on each side.) Leave this piece to one side for later. Repeat this again for the second panel. T-N-C-O...Now placing the two panels together in your right hand making sure both yarn ends are facing the needle points ready to cast off. Now work your T-N-C-O, cut the yarn about 3-4 pp's to weave in. I find it best to weave in along the inside of the base. Handle...Using 3.75mm needle's cast on 6 sts as before, this will create 3 pp's. Row's 1-27...Change to 4mm needle's and knit in g-st every row and just cast of as normal.

Making up...Using contrasting dk yarn, held doubled...Sew up the side seams using either matteress stitch of a method you prefere, making sure to keep it nice and tight and keeping your pp's nice and straight. Weaving in all ends nice and secure. Sew one end of the handle two row's of pp's up from end, to the back of the bag making sure it's in the centre and also sewn on the inside of the bag. Next sew a button onto the front of the bag and the fasten handle closed...And your done.
