Conventional PGs

It is a place of accommodation where people stays for a particular period of time and in
addition pays for the food and services being offered in an accommodation.

Types of PGs
1. Furnished Properties
It is further classified into 3 categories:
a) Villa- It is a large country house, having an estate and consisting of farm and
residential buildings arranged around a courtyard.

b) Dorm- It is a large room containing many beds

c) Apartment- It is a flat which is suite of rooms forming one residence.


It is further classified into following:
1) Shared Apartments- Share apartments are known as rental places with spaces
separate from a private room where the residents can gather together to
“share” and “exchange” in a new and exciting way of living.
2) Rental Apartments- A property from which the owner receives payment
from the occupant(s), known as tenants, in return for occupying or using the
property. It can be shared as well by many other occupants.

d) Studio Flats- It is a small apartment which combines living room, bedroom, and
kitchen into a single room and also known as self-contained apartment.
2. Hostels
PG Hostel is a building complex with large number of rooms which is manage and
administered by staff and also holds an effective security system for safety measures.
These hostels are specific to either male or female.
Facilities which are being offered in hostel are stated below:
a) Security Guards on main entry gate and CCTV cameras installed on each floor.
b) Wi-Fi in each room
c) Televisions and furnished rooms (study table for students)
d) Common area of Dining
e) Washing Machines and water cooler on each floor
