Any benefic exalted in 6th, 8th or 12th house promotes the deeds of that particular

house. For instance, 6th house is all about your diseases, debts and enemies.
Having a benefic will create either of those attributes of the 6th house. However,
8th house gives some positive results like longevity, interest in coccult sciences
like astrology, astrophysics if Mercury or Jupiter is posited there. Saturn brings
longevity and straight forward attitude in life. One doesn't take short cut in life
when saturn is in 8th house. If venus is exalted in 12th house, it gives immoral
relationships/affairs with opposite sex. But it also provides immense wealth.
Eventhough venus is a natural nenefic, it s a functional malefic for Aries
Ascendant as it has a tendency of a maraka (killer) planet.

Life takes off in a fabulous way if there are no planets in 6th, 8th and 12th
house. There won't be much difficulty in life. Things end up successfully without
much of an effort, But my personal opinion is a person will have a drive and
motivation to push himself/herself towards something in life only when there is a
planet in 8th house. However there are much more to consider. This is just an
overview.

Thanks

Hello Truth Seeker,
Namaste & Greetings from the island of Trinidad and Tobago.

Thank you for your question on Quora. I will be delighted to contribute my opinion.

I am a Jyotish - Vedic Astrology practitioner. My response is based on using this

type of astrology.

Do you know what these houses: 6, 8 and 12 stand for? I am sure you thats why this
question. If you dont know what they stand for, please allow me to explain:

The 6th house: Enemies, thieves; cuts, wounds in the body, miseries, sorrows and
disappointments; debts, illness, paternal relatives, sinful deeds, battle, fight,
diseases, hostility, fear of injuries, obstructions, abscess, pets, fear, struggle
for existence, mental worry, sloth and fear of losing reputation. Worries,
anxieties, obstacles, enemies, thieves, vices, challenges, tests, urge for
perfection, self-improvement techniques, competitive power, turning obstacles into
opportunities, difference of opinion, conflicts, debts, diseases, suffering,
wounds, service, daily job, imprisonment, quadrupeds, pet animals. receiving
charity.

The 8th house: Longevity, secret organ, death legacies, gifts, unearned wealth,
cause of death, wills, disgrace, degradation, the place and surroundings of death;
defeat, insult, sorrow, blame, servants, impediments, lost articles, venereal
complaints, accidents, sin and violence. transformation, the gap, the mechanics of
nature, the cognition of the structuring dynamics of consciousness,, the experience
of the constitution of the universe, knowledge of past, present and future,
transcendence, siddhis, regeneration, rebirth, discontinuation, dangers, chronic
ailments, agonies, accidents, enemies, mode of death, wealth of the spouse,
unearned wealth, inheritance, underground places, hidden treasures, everything
hidden, mysteries of life and "death," and overseas journeys (sea).

The 12th house: Misery, expenditure, waste, extravagance, sympathy, piety, divine
knowledge, worship, Moksha (final emancipation) enlightenment, gain of
spirituality, renunciation, the state after death, evils, forbidden practices,
mental aberration, disappointment, sudden death, enemies, hatred of the public,
affliction, body deformity, puzzling sicknesses, curses, reincarnation and black
magic, losses, loss of relativity, loss of attachment, loss of identification,
donations, charity, journey to far off distant lands, lonely places, confinement in
prison, hospital or monastery, pleasures of the bed, secret enemies, spies, falls
(from height or in the eyes of the others).

Now lets see what if exalted Venus is situated in these house as under. The
degrees of Venus I have chosen is 27 degrees in Pisces for following:

Exalted Venus in the 6th house: Venus creates problems when placed in the Sixth.
Although under its influence you learn to unfold your capacities by associating
with different types of people, these associations create social and personal
difficulties for you. Often marital life may be in jeopardy, you become involved in
bad business and debt, and at times suffer from genital related diseases. You have
little control over expenditures. Spouse do not desire you and you have no desire
for them; impotent. You have many strong and powerful enemies (mostly women);
excessive expenditures, leading to poverty and debt. Much mental torture. No gain
or success in business in spite of your great efforts and industry-rather you may
make a mess of it. You have to face endless invincible enemies; constant
liquidation of wealth; unsuccessful in the best organized trade. Foolish and sick.
Many occasions of grief and condemnation. You are poor, and may have unlawful
relations with young women. Suffers through ailments. Vain, dull, penniless, timid,
bad company, quarrelsome, disrespect for father, trouble through all sources. Fond
of dance-music, victor and destroyer.

Exalted Venus in the 8th house: Under the influence of Venus in 8th house, the
libido is very strong, but it does not necessarily lead to promiscuity. Your spouse
is not supportive or may look down on you and cause some kind of worry. You may be
a shepherd (not in real life); your language is that of rustics. This Venus denotes
happiness before middle age; ailing; discontented; trouble for mother in the 4th
year; partner is not your well-wisher. Kidney problems, diabetes, obesity or
urinary troubles may terminate this life. Separation of marriage partner, loss,
grief and many more disappointments. Harsh of speech. Longevity is questionable.
Success and gain after long and hard struggle. Always in debt. Delayed victory.
Mean and unbecoming action. Sick, quarrelsome, vagrant (?). Disreputed, married,
poor, wicked, bold and worried about the family. Jovial, vain. Religious. Loyalist,
possibly non-vegetarian, large eyes. Death in a holy place of bile-cough.

Exalted Venus in the 12th house: Venus produces a material impulse. It leads you
towards sensual gratification and involvement in unethical relationships which bind
the soul strongly in chains of materialization. One may remember that Venus is the
advisor to the demons who command the anti-devic (godly) forces. The advice given
by Venus can lead you to adopt bad actions which will require scores of lives to
release the soul from bondage. These activities are produced by passion, lustful
intentions, psychologically acquisitive tendencies, and ritualistic or overly
formal religious observances. These tendencies are greatly accentuated when Venus
occupies the Twelfth house, which can finally fix you in your pleasant sleep (of
illusion) and in the enjoyment of a comfortable couch (karmic bondage). Mental
restlessness, little financial gain. Ethical. Incapable of giving pleasure. Strife
with friends and people in general. Extravagant, discord with friends and seniors.
A liar and unpopular amongst relatives. Sick and ailing. infidel, unkind, debauch
and gross body.

The above interpretation is given as is and without looking at any aspects,
conjunction of benefics or malefics this Venus may receive and many many other
yogas. Fyi, an astrologer looks at 300 yogas before he gives his interpretation or
final work / prediction.

Trust the above inspires you,

Let me explain this in simple terms:

The charts are always cyclic, there is no start or no finish.

The house 1, 2 or 3 etc are from one another and not from a particular origin.
The 6th, 8th or 12 house from any house can be bad from the point it is counted and
that too for some significations and not all.
For example mars positioned in 8th house from ascendant in exaltation( Capricorn),
this can be a negative placement for some significations of ascendant, but from the
second house from the ascendant it is a Kendra position (v good for the
significations of 2nd house), from the third house from the ascendant it is 6th
(Upachaya, or growth house), from the fourth house from the ascendant it is a
Tricone position (exemplary for the signification off 4th house) and likewise the
results vary.
Now, if there is an exalted planet in a ninth house, say Saturn and therefore the
ascendant will be Aquarius. Now, this Saturn giving a Rajyoga (Kendra in Tricone)
is exceptionally bad for the significations of 2nd house from ascendant as this
exalted Saturn is 8th from the second house.
So, inferring the positions of the houses, planets in an horoscope are interrelated
by Bhavat- Bhavam and are not judged from the ascendant only.

Now, deeper peep:

Above was when we read the horoscopes through a particular house, Now, suppose I
have to look for professional life of a native, I will make the Lagna where Saturn
is and then make my predictions.
Similarly for marriage, I will make the Lagna where Venus is and make my
prediction.
The other analogy is that every year the Lagna moves one pace forward, which means
today your Lagna could be Aries but the next year it will be Taurus so the 6, 8,
and 12th are all fluid if you are still taking them seriously.
Result: Every house is 6th 8th or 12th of some other house.
Exalted planet may be good for some signification of some house but can be bad for
some other significations.

I agree with April. The 6th, 8th and 12th houses have bad reputations, but it
doesn't mean that nothing good comes from them. An exalted benefic would certainly
increase the chances of more favorable outcomes.

The Sign of Exaltation of a planet allows its energy to be expressed in its most
positive way. The complementary Sign on the opposite side is its "Fall".

("So what?"). On its own, this information is not necessarily very useful because
the result is dependent on the combination of other planets in the chart, and Free
Will. All this does is indicate a Personality trait.

If we observe the Spiritual Life Lesson of an individual, as indicated by the Sun

Sign, we can see how he/she might USE it to further that aim.

To give a more commonly understood example, the Sun is Exalted in Aries - where it
is allowed greater freedom of expression, and is in Fall in Libra where it needs
Partnerships to be creative. The actual outcome depends on the Free Will of the
subject, who can do with it whatever they wish.

This is why Prediction is not very good in Astrology today. In the past people were
more predictable from having less choice. Nowadays we have to make allowance for
Free Will. My book "Your Personal Life Diary" does just that by showing how to use
Natural Laws to achieve goals. Unfortunately there are still a lot of people who
prefer to be told what to do, when Astrologers take the place of parents. Making
our own decisions in life is often quite stressful, for all sorts of reasons.

Venus in Pisces brings a great compassion to the individual. That is, the psychic,
sensitive, nature of Pisces is enhanced to enable sympathy and understanding. In
itself this is not necessarily beneficial because it does not say what the subject
will do with this inner sensory ("6th.Sense") information. To merely be
sympathetic, and understand someone's problems does not necessarily solve them..

Venus in 12th.House brings similar traits,

"Give a man a fish, he will be fed for a day. Give him a net, he will be fed for
life". In some cases, if we give someone a net it is quite possible he will sell it
to buy fish.

Venus in Virgo, the complementary Sign, is that of its Fall. In this case there is
a tendency to be hypercritical in one's relationships and demand Perfection in
everything. Ideals are there for guidance, not practical goals. For example, the
subject can demand cleanliness to the point of obsession. Venus in 6th.House is
similar.

The 6th, 8th and 12th houses deliver some good results too. Like 6th indicates good
health, service, winning in competitions, overcome enemies etc..

8th indicates unearned income, brokerage, insurance gains, inheritance, occult

study, longevity etc..

12th indicates investments, foreign tours, hospitals, luck with regard to karakatwa
of the planet in 12th etc..

Therefore when a planet gets exalted in 6th, 8th or 12th it delivers good results
of that house and it's karakatwa. The native experiences good results of the house
which it owns as the owner is exalted, however not to the extent a planet would
deliver when exalted in a Kendra or a Kona.

When a benefic planet gets exalted in good houses they produce great yogas but in
6th, 8th or 12th, they do not produce great yogas but results as explained above
are experienced.
