Dual couple career

INTRODUCTION
Dual-career family can be defined as one in which both heads of household pursue careers and at the same time maintain a family life together. The fact that married women are going to work and working more consistently than ever before is undeniable Dual-career couples have unique problems for which Extension programs may help provide solutions.

When both a husband and wife have careers, they are known as a "DualCareer Couple." And the issues that face a dual-career couple are different and more complex than those of traditional married couples. The dual-career lifestyle has created a unique set of challenges, many of which relate to socialization and role expectations, work role conflicts, and family role conflicts.

REASONS FOR CONFLICT AMONG DUAL COUPLE

Dual-career couples must wrestle with the dilemmas of how to support each other's career . Conflict of whose career comes first.

Anti-nepotism-forbidding married people to work together. Women are over-burdened.

An unequal division of labor at home. Lack of time to talk.

Too much busy schedulekids are affected. Dual-career couple -struggle with dividing chores equally.

First priority their work-less bothered about their parents. Dual-career couples have unique problems for which Extension programs may help provide solutions. Less socialization.

Each person has to make compromises for the other's career, and the net result is often that each ends up with a little less.

How to resolve Dual couple conflict?


Spend some time to interact. With hard work, good luck, clear goals, patience and a willingness to compromise, success is possible, dual-career relationships work. If necessary professional help can be taken.

Dual couple should spare some timeMarriage is the center of family. Should spend some time with kids. Man should also equally contribute to house hold chores.

Mutual understanding about each others career. Extension professionals an opportunity to help.
