DEVELOPMENT & PLATFORMS

Windows 8 represents a reimagining of Windows from the chipset to the experience. Since this is a week focused on developers, we also detailed the bold underpinnings of the re-imagination of the Windows platform, tools, and APIs We will show the brand new tools that allow you to code Metro style applications in HTML5/JavaScript, C/C++, and/or C#/XAML. Metro is an internal code name for a typography-based design language created byMicrosoft, originally for use in Windows Phone 7. Early uses of the Metro principles, such as the typography, began as early as Microsoft Windows 8. "Metro" is based on the design principles of classic Swiss graphic design.

FEATURES OF WINDOWS-8
Windows Boot performance Few days back, we got a new feature of high booting capability of Windows 8 OS. According to this feature, Windows 8 fine tuning with start-up process will going to increase its popularity because many users want fast booting speed. Windows file system Windows 8 provides strong file system support which cannot allow unauthorized users to make changes in Windows secure files. As it implements more security for file accessing. A new feature of "file name collisions will be there in Windows 8 so as to avoid redundancy of same file in system memory.

Windows cloud services We know that Windows Live essential allows users to store data online in Windows 7 OS as well but with Windows 8 OS, you can store bundle of data in Windows Live and even provision is made, through which you can backup your data online. Windows 8 that enables enterprise administrators to create USB drives containing complete, managed Windows images that users can use to boot and run Windows on anY Windows 8 capable computer. Windows 8 Start Screen The Start screen is yet another impressive UI. The screen basically groups all your applications together, which you can easily drag and drop, or add new things.

WEEKNESS OF WINDOWS -8 OS
1. Very difficult to move between screens Metro Switching between applications is a very difficult thing to do. You are not given functions such as Alt-Tab while working with the desktop

and the keyboard to switch from one app to another app. Instead, in Windows 9 Metro NDA UI could use a pointer or finder. Put on the left side of the screen and drag. Or click on the icon that appears.
It sounds very easy but problems arise when you work with many applications. There is no quick and easy way to switch between applications. If you move the mouse to the left then an icon will pops up. And if not right then you have to click and try again.
2.

Metro multitasking = 2 application only If you use a Metro application (for tablets) in Windows 8, multitasking means the screen will display two applications in a row. That's it. For beginners it would not be a big problem. However for the advanced user, multitasking capabilities with Metro for only two applications is a fatal weakness.

3. Tiles caused crash When Microsoft introduced the System Tray, the feature is referred to as critical so designed to allow users to easily access and quickly view the status of a particular application. But now in the Windows System Tray 8 unlike say Microsoft and even very disturbing. In Windows 8, Metro desktop UI will even become the latest System Tray. Each application will require the system tray. And the more applications that run the system tray will bubble. Although Microsoft promised to deliver applications that are lightweight and easy to administer, but if you use iTunes to stream and there are many other applications that run so many ads and information that emerge can you imagine what will happen on your tablet. Crashed! 4. There is no option to turn tiles into icons The smallest size is still too large tiles appearance. When will you have to install many applications will then screen Metro chaotic.

CONCLUSION:Windows 8 give strong competition to mobile computing, especially the tablet market OS such as Apple OS and Android. So far it has been quite successful and has got the rival developers moving with new ideas. Windows 8 provides great experience on large screens and is a wonder for palm sized smart phones. The fluidity and ease of access is always there and the apps are well coordinated too. The desktop computers are quite powerful and have fetched wonderful speeds and have witnessed quite a number of futuristic apps already. The Start screen is more innovative and the start menu is definitely totally different than that in previous versions which might not be cheered by all Windows enthusiasts. We can hope that other hidden features of zooming and multimedia control get popularized after the launch.
