Personal Development Planning


Defined: Personal development planning is carried out by individuals with guidance, encouragement and help from their managers as required. A PDP sets out the actions people propose to take in order to learn and to develop themselves. They take responsibility for formulating and implementing the plan, but they may receive support from the organization and their managers in doing so.

Purpose: Promote learning. Provide people with knowledge. Provide portfolio of transferable skills. Self organized learning framework. Job related knowledge and skills. To fit current job & because they need to improve or the job itself is changing
