ABOUT KCET
Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is an entrance examination conducted each year for admission to various undergraduate medical / dental / engineering / architecture courses in the colleges and universities across Karnataka. Karnataka CET is conducted and regulated by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). The admission through KCET is open only to the Karnataka residents, however there are some seats under management quota which are for the non Karnataka students. Those who want admission in medical/dental courses appear for Physics, Chemistry and Biology exams.

For Karnatka students 100% seats reserved in Government colleges 95% seats reserved in Aided colleges 50% seats reserved in Private Un-Aided colleges for Non-Minority 45% seats reserved in Private Un-Aided colleges for Minority Eligibility For General 45% in 10+2 , SC/ST/OBC 40% in 10+2 50% seats filled through COMEDK UGET 2012 score
EXAM PATTERN
The test comprises of two parts. First Part is a combined paper for Physics and Chemistry of 150 minutes duration and second is Mathematics with 60 questions to be answered in 80 minutes. This is followed by 60 questions of Biology to be answered in 80 minutes for the MBBS/BDS Aspirants. SYLLABUS
Mathematics
Algebra, which includes Theory of Indices and Logarithms, Progressions, Mathematical Induction, etc.
Physics
Dynamics, Static, Hydrostatics and Hydrodynamics, Heat, and Geometrical Optics.
Chemistry
Kinetic Theory of Gases, Stochiometry, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, etc.
Biology
Cell Biology and Genetics, Histology and Plant Anatomy, Diversity of Plant Life on Earth, etc.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application form of KCET can be obtained from the office of the Principal/Head of Institution where the candidate has studied or studying for the 12th class. The candidates have to submit Rs. 650/- (General) and Rs. 500/- (ST,SC and Category-1) via cash or NEFT Transaction to the Bank Account of KEA having IFSC Code IDIB000M010 and Account No. 878333780 at the Malleswaram Branch of Indian Bank at Bangalore. The candidates residing outside the State including the Gadinadu and Horanadu candidates will have to first submit the form fee for KCET via NEFT transaction after which they will be sent the forms and brochure via email.
