Shell Eco Marathon

Shell Eco-marathon is a unique competition that challenges students to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient car. At three events around the world hundreds of team compete to travel the furthest on the least amount of energy. Some achieve distances equivalent to driving from Paris to Moscow (that's 2,485 km or 1,544 miles) on a single liter of fuel.

Team Eta
Team Eta is a 2 year old student run project affiliated with K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai and are the proud makers of Jugaad13 and J-14, our Super-mileage prototype vehicles.

Vision for 2015

The car is expected to weigh 30kg (66 lbs), around 33 times lighter than an average family car in India. The chassis will be built from aluminum alloys, which are lightweight and yet strong. The car is powered by a 35 c.c. engine. Belt transmission coupled with a planetary gearbox. The shape would resemble that of a drop of water. The nose area is 0.3 m2 (3.3 feet2) for better aerodynamics. A fireproof bulkhead keeps the driver safe in the event of a fire. A safety harness holds in the driver in place in case of a collision.

Media Coverage
Jugaad13, our first prototype, featured in 21 newspapers and 9 news channels. J-14, our second prototype, came in 23 newspapers and 12 news channels. It also was featured in the wide-read car magazine TOP GEAR INDIA.

Sponsorship Deliverables
Sponsor logos on our car body, driver apparel, merchandise(T-shirt, cap, brochure, pamphlets, etc.), standees, flex and banners. Car will be presented at the AutoCar Auto Expo(BKC) and malls around Mumbai. Sponsor description on our website, twitter and Facebook page having more than 15,000 likes. 80 G certificate giving up to 50 % tax exemption. International platform to showcase the company.
