Nike requires suppliers to pay workers at least the locally-
mandated minimum wage and benefits, and any additional
benefits outlined in individual employee contracts or
collective bargaining agreements.

Nike believes that local wage setting is best done by
negotiations between workers, labor representatives, the
employer and the government.

Nike increasingly sees the need for further regional and
global discussions among suppliers, governments, NGOs
and importantly workers, about the degree to which wages
across the industry are meeting workers' needs.

Nike assess, safety and health management
and compliance program performance to
provide protection for workers, the
surrounding community and the environment
at contracted suppliers.

These assessments are conducted on site by
Nike-certified compliance teams that review
all available information

Nikes approach to lean includes worker empowerment,
giving factory workers the skills and abilities needed to
manage production and immediately address issues as they
arise, such as quality or process improvements.

These changes put decisions closer to the worker, and
require a high level of support to ensure they have the skills
and confidence to consistently produce quality products.

We believe lean holds great promise for worker
empowerment and provides opportunities for workers to
increase their skills and contribute to continuous
improvement.

Currently Nike is among the top 3 climate-
friendly companies in the world.
Nike also started a RE-USE-A-SHOE program in
1993 for recycling and reusing used shoes.
The material that is created from recycled shoes
is often used to create sports surfaces like
basketball courts, running
tracks, playgrounds, etc.

To summarize the presentation we could say
that Nike has done pretty good in worlds
current financial crises situation.

Providing excellent service in the foot wear
industry.

Still to date they are the market leader.
