Greenpeace is an independent global
campaigning organization that acts to change
attitudes and behavior, to protect and
conserve the environment and to promote

Greenpeace History
In 1971, a small group of activists set sail from
Vancouver in a fishing boat they named
Greenpeace.
Activist wanted to save Amchitka Island from
nuclear experiments
The group was conormed by Dorothy and Irving
Stowe, Marie and Jim Bohlen, Ben and Dorothy
Metcalfe and Bob Hunter
The boat was intercepted by a U.S. navy ship and
forced to turn back but the voice of reason had
been heard.
1970s, Greenpeace spread to several countries and
began campaigning on various environmental issues
Greenpeace COLOMBIA
On September 23, 2009, in Bogota, with the help of
the office of Greenpeace Argentina, Greenpeace
was born in Colombia.

Greenpeace took the moorland ecosystem, as a symbol
of their struggle to stop the climate crisis.
The team grew rapidly and support groups emerged in
cities such as Medellin, Cali, Pereira, Barranquilla and
Cartagena, with a strong commitment to wanting to
contribute in the various campaigns of the organization
worldwide.

The Greenpeace fleet of ships has a really important role in the
daily work: to protect the ecosystems in the whole world. These
ships are important for the campaigns, giving the information
about threats that the environment suffers.
