Introduction
O In todays workplace, the benchmark for excellence at
all levels specially managerial, is not how
intellectually qualified one is but rather on a positive
attitude, ethical values, and personal and
interpersonal skills which are collectively termed
Soft Skills.

O According to Daniel Goleman, it is the five elements
of emotional intelligence self awareness, self
regulation, motivation, empathy and adeptness in
relationships which determine our potential for
learning personal and social soft skills.




O Soft skills are intangible skills with soft qualities and
competencies that determine not only employees
ability but also improve managerial abilities in top
management and direction level cadre to fit into a
particular structure or situation in an organization.

O Soft Qualities like effective communication skills,
social etiquette, right attitudes and values, and other
personal and interpersonal skills like optimism,
emotional maturity, confidence and adaptability.

offices do lack of social skills some way
or the other .

This survey discusses certain ways by
which individuals can improve on their

listening to seniors to take instructions,

O While many employers lament the lack of soft skills in
their employees, only a few consider including this in their
training and development programs.

O Training in Soft Skills has two sections

1) Involves developing attitudes and attributes,
2)Involves imparting skills in communicating the attitudes,
ideas and thoughts for a job to be carried out well.

O Both, Attitudes and Skills are integral to soft skills
and complement each other.
Soft skills Training: Can We Measure the
Returns it deals with measuring Soft skills
training effictiveness by examinig how the result can
be measured.
O The company translates the Soft Skills training into
measurable units through procedures (SMART)
selling specific , measurable, achievable, realistic,
time-bound goals, where each training session ends
with a goal-setting workshop, making the participants
write a goal based on the insight gained from the
