Qu es la ROP?

Es una vitreoretinopata proliferativa que ocurre en prematuros. La

cual consiste en una interrupcin de la vasculognesis, cuyos
cambios bsicos son la isquemia local, angiognesis y la
induccin de neovascularizacin.

En EUA causa ceguera en 1300 nios/ao.

Incidencia en <1251gr 66-68%

CRYO-ROP

En Mxico, en prematuros con promedio de 31.8sdg con peso

<1290gr que fueron revisados a los 38 das de VEU se encontr:

ROP I 29%
ROP II 24%
ROP III 15%
ROP IV 0.6%

Factores de riesgo:

El manejo estricto de oxgeno

con monitoreo constante y
evitando fluctuaciones se

Fisiopatologa:

Vascularizacin de la retina: 14sdg

Retina nasal: 32sdg

Retina temporal: 37-40sdg

Fases:

Fase temprana: 14 a 21sdg.

Esta fase es independiente de factores

angiognicos e hipoxia.

Fase tarda: >21sdg

Responsable de terminar la vascularizacin

retiniana.

Fase regulada por factores angiognicos.

VEGF: Vascular endothelial growth factor.

IGF-1: Insuline like growth hormone.

Evaluacin Oftalmolgica

Aplicacin de gotas oftlmicas

tropicamida 0.5 + Fenilefrina 2.5%.

1 gota en c/ ojo cada 15 minutos 1 hora

antes de la evaluacin.

Examinacin con lmpara de

hendidura.
