Enter ANSYS in the working directory specified by your instructor using crankcoarse as the jobname.

Enter POST1 and plot the von Mises stress for the coarse model:

Enter the preprocessor and clear the coarse mesh:

Plot the volumes, then do a pairwise intersection of volumes 1, 5, and 4:

a) Define a local cylindrical coordinate system at X=0, Y=0, Z=17.5 and rotate 90
degrees about the local Y axis (i.e. THZX=90):

Utility Menu > WorkPlane > Local Coordinate Systems > Create Local CS > At Specified Loc +

Enter 0,0,17.5 in the ANSYS Input window followed by [Enter]

[OK]

KCS = Cylindrical 1

THZX = 90
