INTRODUCTION
 Compensation is a primary motivator for employees.
People look for jobs that not only suit their creativity
and talents, but compensate them.

 Compensation is also one of the fastest changing


fields in Human Resources, as companies continue to
investigate various ways of rewarding employees for
performance.
SUBJECT MATTER
Establishing and maintaining a firm's pay system is the
principal job of a compensation manager.
Compensation must ensure fair and equitable pay
rates among employees.

In addition, compensation managers often oversee


their firm's performance evaluation system, and they
may design reward systems such as pay-for-
performance plans.
 Successful organizations understand that it’s much
more cost-effective to retain current employees than to
recruit and train new ones.
 Compensation and benefits packages that are both
attractive to employees and cost-effective to the
organizations are important components of effective
retention strategies.
