Quick Facts
Tea is the second largest quantity of liquid
consumed in the world.
Tea is dated back to the late 2700 B.C.
There are 3 basic categories of tea. Green,
Oolong, and Black.
Historians think that tea was founded in
the mountainous areas of China's far
western Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.
The first tea bags were made from handsewn silk muslin bags.

Turkey is the #1 tea drinking country in


the world.
People in Turkey drink an
amazing 20-30 cups per day!
It is not recommended to use the water
from an espresso machine or from a coffee
machine when making tea since the water
will be de-aerated.
Tea grew to great social prominence
during the Tang (620-907 AD) and Sung
(960-1279 AD) Dynasties

Originally, tea was taken as a detoxifying


medicine.
Japanese scientists show that drinking up to ten
cups or more in one day on a daily basis may
also cut down the risks of heart and coronary
diseases
Use a black tea bag to kill warts.

bag in the refrigerator overnight and the bad
odor will be gone the next day.

Theme
The Stolen Coffee Room has a connection
to the Bazaar.
As its name suggests, it has been
designed and put together from selecting
objects from Chor Bazaar, which
supposedly had stolen items for sale in the
old days, though today it is the place to
buy antiques in Bombay.

Colour
Exterior Cyan (unconventional colour choice
hence the costumer intimidates to entre)
Interior White colour with stains (unfinished
colour with stains instigates a sense of informality)
Ceiling Black (In architectural terms it reduces
the volume however for the user its gives a feeling
of being in a secluded space)
Flooring Off white (sticking to the theme , the
texture of the flooring stays true to its material i.e.
concrete)

Elements
Furniture A variety of seating arrangements
inclusive of seating for 2 , 4 and 6. A melange
of antique furniture. (Gives a sense of
randomness and secluded place with smuggled
furniture ).
Lighting Like the furniture there are an
expanse of lights all suspended, thus giving a
spot lighting effect. (The exotic collection of
lights add to the charm of the caf hence
creating an atmosphere of intrigue and ease.

Accessories
Include old advertisements , book shelves, window
frame with the mirror, lanterns and a showcase.
Book Shelf- O the book Shelf they books, model
car, vases, cusions, tea pots, a bowl and a cage.
There is a basket next to the book shelf including a
set of used books.
Advertisements- old advertisement have been
framed in order to contrast the dull wall.(Retro
advertisements printed in the early 70s
presumably. Advertisements promoting soaps to
fizzy drinks like coca cola, take one back to
another era all together.

Ambience
The quaint coffee shops draws its inspiration
from forgotten era thus reviving an old world
charm.
The ambience leaves one feeling intimiated
therefore one cant help but be drawn back
for the sake of another cup.
The environment in the caf is such that
every customer basic need of privacy are
catered to efficiently .

Daylight: During the hours of daylight the


clever seating arrangement is visible hence
enhancing the true beauty of the randomness
of the furniture. It gives a fresh look to the
place.
Evening: the joint has a secluded sultry appeal
to it. The dim lighting eases the effect of the
vibrancy of the colour thus involuntarily setting
the mood that would make the grumpiest of
people want to lighten up.
