My perspective
• Hi my name is Nande Bolton. Im the CEO of N.K.B Exports. I live in
Canada. I sell personal need items. People order them from me all
throughout the world, and the way I get their items to them is by ship.
My products are shipped all across the great lakes so that they can
be delivered and sold in the U.S
• Once you take away Canada's access to the great lakes, I have to
start paying more to get my products shipped by plane or other
methods. Once my products get into the stores. The consumers
have to pay more to buy my products, and I don’t think that’s right or
fair. I feel that taking away Canada's access to great lakes is taking
away the ability for my company and other companies to sell items
for a fair price. It is also messing with Canada’s economy.
• If you don’t take away Canada's access to great lakes. I will give the
environmental protection program 5% of my profits from my business
to help with the pollution problems. I will stop anyone I see from
polluting the water, and I’m confident that other Canadian companies
would be willing to do the same.
Why are the great lakes vital to
Canada's economy?
• Canada is the worlds wealthiest nation. It is also the top ten trading nation. In 2008
Canada’s imported goods were worth more than $442.9 billion of which $280.8 billion was
from United states , $11.7 billion was from Japan, and $11.3 billion came from china.
Canada makes most of their money by shipping's goods and if you take away their access
to great lakes they will no longer have the ability to ship goods across the world and they
would no longer make as much money as they just to because they would have to pay the
expenses to get the goods to their destination by plane.
• The Great Lakes economic region, comprised of the U.S. states bordering the Great
Lakes, the upper Mississippi and Ohio watersheds, and the Canadian provinces of Ontario
and Quebec, has a storied economic history.
• Canada has the tenth largest economy in the world. Canada’s economy will be affected if
you take away Canada’s access to great lakes cause that’s were most of there money
comes from and if you take away their access to great lakes they will lose money.

How does the location of great
lakes to Canada make shipping
products easier or less expensive?
• Traveling across the great lakes is the only way that Canada
can get their goods transported to their destination for a fair
price, and it would make it more expensive because Canada
is going to have to pay the expenses to get the goods
delivered buy plane , and they already have to pay for their
problems with the great lakes.

the world, and if you deny their access to great lakes not only
will they have to pay more money.
