In this paper tensile strength experiments
have been conducted by varying mass

CHARACTERISTICS OF ALUMINIUM
ALLOY
The Aluminium alloy composite materials
consist of high specific strength, high
specific stiffness, more thermal stability,
more corrosion and wear resistance, high
fatigue life. AlSiC, pronounced alsick is a
metal matrix composite consisting of
aluminium matrix with silicon carbide
particles. It has high thermal conductivity
(180200 W/m K) and it is chiefly used in
microelectronics as substrate for power
semiconductor devices and high density
multichip modules.
OBJECTIVE
In our point of view all these drawbacks can be over come
by replacing composite materials instead of heavy metals in
manufacturing. High specific stiffness and near-zero
coefficient of thermal expansion is being experienced in
Metal Matrix Composites (MMCS).These are a new class of
materials that combine two or more separate components
into a form suitable for structural applications. While each
component retains its identity, the new composite material
displays macroscopic properties superior to its parent
constituents, particularly in terms of mechanical properties
and economic value.

THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
Heat transfer occurs at a higher rate
across materials of high thermal
conductivity than across materials of low
thermal conductivity. Correspondingly
materials of high thermal conductivity are
widely used in heat sink applications and
materials of low thermal conductivity are
used as thermal insulation. Thermal
conductivity of materials is temperature
dependent. The reciprocal of thermal
conductivity is called thermal resistivity.

Conclusions
Aluminium &Siliconcarbide alloy composite materials
are widely used for a many number of applications like engineering
structures, aerospace and marine application, automotive bumpers,
sporting goods and so on. Based on our work we have to be found that
the weight to strength ratio for aluminium silicon carbide during tensile
test to be compared with mild steel . Aluminum silicon carbide alloy
composite material weight also to be compared with mild steel.
