Last few years have seen tremendous
growth in trade along with increasing
economic cooperation between the two
economies by different bilateral and regional
routes
Potential exports to these regions include
machinery and transport equipment,
manufactured products, pharmaceuticals, etc
Many African nations are a source of import
of petroleum, metallurgical goods, raw
cotton, fruit, etc.

AFRICA
Trade between China and Africa increased by 700%
during the 1990s,and China is currently Africa's
largest trading partner
Chinas export to African countries extends to various
commodities such as transportation, textiles, machines
and machinery goods, plastic and rubber, and
chemicals, according to a report by IMF and Africa
research institute
Chinas import with Africa is again largely driven by
some selective countries such as South Africa, Angola,
Libya, Congo, Guinea that collectively account for more
than 75% of the total imports from the region.
The selectivity is also in terms of the type of products
mainly oil. Until 2008, mineral oils, and related
materials accounted for more than 45% of the total
imports of China from Africa.

This study was an attempt to understand
the emergence of Africa as a new focal
point in world trade and how does the two
major economies of Asia- India and China
have recently seen it as a major trade
partner.
By this study we can conclude both India
and China see Africa as a major strategic
