appealing more to

My magazine is aimed at both males and females between the ages
of 15-25. I decided to aim my magazine at both males and females
because most magazine like Kerrang are aimed at both men and
women but due to the context, colours and images that are used, the
magazine appeal’s more to males than females. So for my magazine
to appeal to females, I have used colours like yellow which is a
feminine colour and I have also used an image of a female band to
appeal to females more than males. I also decided to aim my
magazine at the age group between 15-25 because the bands that I
wanted to feature in my magazine are modern rock and metal bands
so they would appear more to a younger age group where as more
classic rock bands would be aimed more at an older age group.
The name of my magazine RIOT is short and snappy and it gets
straight to the point but also it will stick in people’s mind. I have also
used bold text on my magazine because it stands out and it will
catches’ people eyes. I have used the colours black, white, red and
yellow because the colours are the colours that appear on real
music magazine like Kerrang but also it’s the colours that represent
rock magazines.

I have revolved my music magazine round gigs and festivals

because it what will attract a young person’s attention because that
what appeals to young people. I have also live pictures of Green
Day and Nickelback to give my target audience that extra push to
buy my magazine.

I have used the phrases ‘Live music special’ because it will again
make people want to buy my magazine. I have also used
‘Exclusive’ because exclusive means that no other magazine will
have this article except my magazine.

I have free good to give away like posters and a ‘download band
guide again to make people want to buy my magazine.
