Mbira

The Mbira, also known as a Thumb Piano is a

resonant instrument that creates sound via the
plucking of staggered pieces of metal, fixed onto
a resonator.
Can be made from pretty much anything metal
that is of the right size and rigidity (E.g. Spoon
handles, flattened bike spokes, garden rake
spokes.
Because of the flexibility of materials and the
simple construction this is a very strong choice
of instrument for the brief we were given.
