History of my mothers family

My Great Grandparents on my mothers


maternal side; Gustav A. Schmidt and
Margarete A. Krzyzek came to the U.S. in
the 1940s for Breslau, Germany
(Prussia). This territory has since been
reclaimed by Poland and is the city of
Wroclaw.

Music from Germany

Around the time that my Great


grandparents left Breslau, Germany there
was a popular style of music and dancing
called Big Band Swing. This music was
very progressive and very controversial.
Polka, Classical, Opera and Folk music are
very popular genres in Germany.

History of my mothers family

The paternal side of her family has quite


a bit more recorded history, her
grandparents; Charles H.C. King and
Lilian Alice Walker have ancestors that
come from Ireland and England and were
some of the first settlers in Maine and
Massachusetts dating back to 1684.

family

My Great grandparents on my fathers


paternal side starts with his Great
grandmother; Julia Agnes Lynch, whose
family migrated from Ireland around 1870
and his Great grandfather George Barney
who has ancestors from Scotland, Ireland
and Wales.
On his Maternal side, his family ancestors
come from, Denmark, Finland, Sweden
and Norway.

Musical background

I was in choir from grade school to middle


school.
Started playing the drums at age 13 and
in high school was in concert band I
played tympani, bass drum, cymbals,
triangle, wood block, bongos and drum
set.
I played snare drum, bass drum, quads
and cymbals in the marching band.
