INTRODUCTION
In this work, we introduce the implementation of a tourguide robot using Kinect technology to ease the process
of tourist guides.
The robot will follow the tourists wherever they go,
avoiding obstacles in its way, and provide information
about the place once the tourists have given it the
command to do so.
The robot detects different objects, thus providing
information about them, using RFID tags.

.
Tour guide robots have been created without the use of
Kinect. The combination of Kinect and a tour guide
robot is proposed in this work.
As the advancement in the field of robotics increase,
more and more people are entering this field. The
challenging aspects of AI and robotics makes it more
appealing to people.

Technology used:
Kinect is a line ofmotion sensing input device. Based
around a webcam-style add-on peripheral, it enables
users to control and interact with their
console/computer without the need for agame
controller, through anatural user interfaceusing
gestures andspoken commands.
Radio-frequency identification(RFID) uses
electromagnetic fieldsto automatically identify and
track tags attached to objects. The tags contain
electronically stored information.

IMPLEMENTATION
Fig. illustrates the components needed to implement
the tracking website. To begin with is the RFID, where it
is able to read the RFID tag. This is clearly shown on the
bottom left of the figure. The linkage between the RFID
and the PC is done through the USB. The data given
from the RFID is then used in an application called
Robot Kinect. This application has a function called Tag;
where it will be able to determine the number of the
RFID tag that was read by the RFID. In addition, the
function Tag will immediately update the robot location
using the web server.

CONCLUSION
This paper proposes the implementation of a Kinect tour
guide robot. This will ensure the user has a pleasant
experience at the designated area.
The implemented robot is able to detect and avoid
obstacles, recognize voice commands, follow the user
around, detect museum pieces, and give information
about the detected pieces.
