Having entering the world of language . Helen was eager to use it.

Initially ,she found it a little strange ,but soon through constant effort
She improve considerable . She knew her vocabulary was insufficient
But as she learned more and more words ,her field of enquiry widened
She was always eager to something new and more .
One day when Helen brought a brunch of violets to Miss Sullivan
She spelled to Helen s hand ,I LOVE Helen Miss Sullivan tried to
Teach her the meaning by KISSING her ,by gently holding her but
Somehow she didnt understand it . So Miss Sullivan dropped the
Matter

After a few days ,when Helen was stringing beads in a particular


Order , she made many mistakes ,and Miss Sullivan had patiently the
mistakes many times till Helen could discover the error she felt the
meaning of LOVE Miss Sullivan told her that love is to be felt and
not touched .Immediately she realized what love is .in the same way
she was taught another abstract word THINK by Miss Sullivan by
touching her forehead and spelling it

Even from the start of Helens education ,Ms Sullivan adopted


the practice of speaking to Helen ; she spelled the sentence into
Helens hand instead of speaking them .But now Helen could make
out that a deaf child could not learn any lesson with in a month or a
year as a ordinary child could by imitating or repeating as these
exchange oh ideas are denied to the deaf.
Miss Sullivan knew that the instinctive exchange of speech was
Denied to deaf child and she provided the essential stimulus to Helen
by word repetition of the linguistic props and gradually Helen could
muster up speech to a satisfactory level
