DIRECT AND INDIRECT

Direct sentence is a sentence quoted from the


words of a person without changing the words
and always affixed quotes on sentence
Indirect sentence is a sentence which is the
delivery of what is spoken person but in the
sentence there is a change of words and do not
change the intent.

Direct and indirect sentence is divided into three ,


namely:

Sentence statement
Sentence ban
Imperative sentence

sentence statement
D = S + SAY /SAYS + O S + V1 + ES/S + O
I = S + SAID + O + THAT + S + V2 + O

EXAMPLE
D = She said, I work in a factory
I = She said that she worked in a factory.

Sentence ban

D = S + SAY / SAYS + O DONE + S + V1 + O


I = S + SAID + O + NOT TO + V1 + O

EXAMPLE
D = She told me, dont eat that meal
I = She told me not to eat that meal

Imperative sentence
D = S + SAY/SAYS + O V1 + O
I = S + SAID / TOLD + O + TO + V1 + O

EXAMPLE
D = He asked me, open the door , please
I = He told me to open the door
