The color wheel is created by


mixing two of the three primary
colors (blue, red, and yellow)
together in different quantities
and can be as complex as you
want.

Three Types of Colors

1.Primary colors
The primary colors are
red, yellow and blue.
It is not possible to
make any of these
three colors by mixing
colors together.

2. Secondary Colors
Secondary colors are
made by mixing two
primary colors
together in equal
quantities, for
example yellow and
blue make green.

3. Tertiary Colors
Tertiary colors can be
created by mixing
one primary color and
one secondary color
from the same part of
the wheel.

Analogous Colors
Analogous colors are
colors next to each
other on the color
wheel. For example,
orange, reddish orange,
and red are analogous
colors.

Examples of Analogous Color

Complementary Colors
Complementary colors are
colors placed opposite on
the color wheel. For
example, greenish blue and
reddish orange are
complementary colors.

Examples of Complementary Color

Split Colors
Split complementary colors
consist of a color and two
colors next to that colors
complementary. For example,
violet, yellowish green, and
yellowish orange are split
complementary colors.
