English 11 will combine reading,


writing, and speaking activities
to create deep, personal literary
analysis

Entry Procedures
The agenda for the
day will be written
on the white board
There will be a halfpage free-write
journal entry
related to the daily
theme posted

It is expected that
students have
these to be fully
present:
College-ruled

Grading

Journal checks and


homework will comprise
10% of the final grade
(5%/quarter)
In-class work will comprise
30% of the final grade
(15%/quarter)
Papers and novel projects
will comprise 60% of the
final grade (30%/quarter).
There will be one of each
per semester.
The final copies of all paper
and project assignments
must be TYPED.

Standard Grading System


Scale

A 90-100
B 80-89
C 70-79
D 60-69
E 59 and down

Late Work
Late work will have 20% of
the points EARNED
deducted, not the points
POSSIBLE, for each day
missed.
i.e. a 75/100 would be a 60%
