Teasers are for different films, brands and products that
can be used to create a hype to make the audience excited for its release towards the release date. Using teaser trailers shows the audience small parts of the film before the official release and it reveals the basic plot line. It should be shorter than the theatrical trailer as it needs to be short and snappy in order to catch the target audiences attention and interest. It shouldnt reveal much of the plot but it should have one point of interest, which is usually the star vehicle or a basic subject matter of the plot which engages the audience.
Purpose of Theatrical Trailers
Its used for advertising, showing short clips from the
upcoming film which is to gain the target audiences attention. Its explaining the basic plot outline in slightly more detail than the teaser trailer, so the audience can connect the images and the plot to decide whether or not itll be a film that they would enjoy going to see. Some trailers use special footage, which is material that is solely created for advertising purposes and doesnt feature in the actual film. The trailers not only advertise the plot and genre but also the stars, age certificate, production company, producers, directors and the release date.
