like elections, other interest groups
active in social movements like
cooperatives, faith based groups like
the many kinds of churches doing moral
work for society, mass media and social
media used by people to express their
views and opinions on matters of public
interests, etc...

Principle of separation of power


-The separation of powers in a
democracy is to prevent abuse of power
and to safeguard freedom for all.
- The executive, legislative and judiciary
powers of government is divided into
different branches . These departments
should be separate and distinct because
of the corrupting nature of power.

Bill of rights
the declaration and enumeration of the
individual rights and privileges.
The basis is the social importance
accorded to the individual in a
democratic state upon the belief that
every human being has intrinsic dignity
and worth which must be respected and
safeguarded.

IDEOLOGY
set of ideas that move and drive
individuals or group of individuals to take
political action like ideas that shape and
motivate people to join political parties like
the LP, NP, Party List like Bayan Muna,
Anakbayan, Akbayan etc; the CPP or
Communist Party of the Philippines, and
even social institutions like the many
churches, and other social and political
groups operating within societies.

MAJOR IDEOLOGICAL FORMATIONS IN THE


PHILIPPINES

National Democracy
refers to the transitional stage toward the
realization of socialism in the Philippines,
as advocated by the CPP.
Its objectives is to break the hold of US
imperialism and feudalism.
Social Democracy
- refers to a revisionist socialist doctrine that
no longer aims to abolish private property
and institute full collectivization but rather
to reform or "humanize" capitalism.

Liberal Democracy
expounded by the Liberal Party
It places its faith in the individual, not in the
state or government to address the problems
of Philippine society.

Christian Democracy
- It aims to solve social problems with the aid
of Christian principles,outside the control of
the Catholic and Protestant churches.
