LINKING IN PHONETICS

LINKING
Linking is the reason why non native English
speakers have problems understanding the
English Language.
This is because linking occurs when a word ends
in a consonant and the following word starts with
a vowel.
The consonant sound is linked with the vowel
when it is pronounced.

For example, Thats enough. The S sound is linked

with the e sound.
This makes the sound Thats enough turned into
Thats senough.
