Titles on a blank screen

Studios used them because they can offer a simple,


uncomplicated way to include institutional in float at
the beginning of the film. Usually a white typeface is
used on a black background to create a contrast.

Titles on a blank screen- Pulp Fiction

The opening sequence of Pulp fiction includes a bold


title with a orang red and yellow colour palette. It is
extremely basic yet retro which does create
individuality. The sound is action music which could
relate to genre of the film.

Titles on a still image

This category of title sequence indicates a way to


incorporate text with a visual image to hint at the tone
of the genre of the film. Historically title cards
developed to include hand drawn borders and other
images.

Titles on still image- Wimbledon

This title sequence clearly gives an insight into what


this film is going to be about, also by the title of the
film gives a massive indication. The opening shows a
crowd at Wimbledon watching a tennis match.

Titles over moving images

Offers metaphors and a narrative thread. Also this


sequence introduces tone and the storyline of the film
to the audience.

Titles using animation or motion

The title becomes a part of the moving image and are


integrated together with the images that the audience
see.

Titles using animation or motion- Casino Royale

The motion and cartoon included to set the theme of


the film and to show James Bonds background story.
This opening sequence introduces you to Bond.
