Subatomic particles

An Introduction

An atom is made up of
subatomic particles.
The fundamental particles are
divided into :
Fermions
Leptons
Quarks
Bosons

The proton and neutron are not

fundamental particles, but are
made up of smaller particles.
The fundamental particles
consist of 6 Leptons and 6
Quarks.
Other particles are made up of
Quarks.
The huge list of particles is

Quarks

The different Quarks are:

Proton and Neutron

The Proton is made up of 2 Up
Quarks and 1 Down Quark. So it
is positive.
The Neutron is made up of 1 Up
Quark and 2 Down Quarks. So it
is neutral.

Facts
The types of Quarks are called
flavors.
The Up Quark is the smallest.
The Top Quark ,also called
truth quark, is the biggest.
Particles containing a Charm
Quark are called charmed
particles.

Hadrons
Combinations of quarks
are called hadrons.
3-quark hadrons are
called baryons (include
protons and neutrons). 2quark hadrons are
mesons.
