Why technology?
The U.S. currently leads the world in IoT smart
agriculture, asit produces 7,340 kgs of cereal per
hectare of farmland, compared to the global average of
3,851 kgs of cereal per hectare.
Even though 53% of the population dependent on
agriculture it contributes only 15% to the GDP
More people are shifting their profession from
agriculture and moving towards urban areas.
To become a superpower in future India needs to invest
more on technology in the field of agriculture.
Project overview
Main intention of this project is to automate activities
like watering, illumination, climate control.
Parameters like humidity and temperature can be
sensed and controlled from any corner of the world
using the concept of Internet Of Things.
DHT11
It
is a sensor used to measure relative
humidity
and temperature.
Range is 20-90% RH and
Humidity accuracy is 5% RH, Temperature
accuracy is
Communication is through Single- Wire TwoWay
A complete data transmission is 40bit, MSB
first.
Data format: 8bit integral RH+ 8bit decimal
RH+ 8bit integral Temperature + 8bit decimal
temperature+ 8 bit checksum.
How is it achieved?
1. A simple webpage is hosted using Intel Galileo Gen
2.
2. The webpage displays current weather conditions like
temperature humidity, soil moisture level.
3. Webpage also contains checkbox and textbox to
control the water pump, illumination system, humidity
and temperature control system.
4. One also has the ability to override all the instruments
from its predefined values.
