This Act identifies offences by sellers;
False or misleading advertising of goods and services.
False or misleading prices of goods.

Director of Consumer Affairs


This body was set up under the Consumer Information
Act to protect consumers.
Its main functions are;
Ensure consumer Legislation is operating effectively.
Inform consumers of their rights e.g. Leaflets etc
Investigate complaints of false advertising.
Advise the Government on consumer issues.

Director of Consumer Affairs


Director of Consumers Affairs has the power to;
Order false of misleading advertisement to be changed or
taken down.
Prosecute sellers over false or misleading claims.

National Consumer Agency

The main functions of the national consumer agency (NCA) are to:

Promote and protect the interests and welfare of consumers


Enforce the relevant consumer law
Encourage compliance with the relevant law
Investigate suspected offences under any of the relevant laws
Refer cases to the Director of Public Prosecutions where appropriate
